please forgive the camera phone pics.

as you can see the powdercoating was blasted away. as well as the VCT logo, i blended it smooth. then fab'd the four brackets from 301 stainless steel and installed nutplates to secure the carbon cover to the VC. i blended out most of the casting flash for a smooth finish too.

I beleive he is going to have it powercoated candy red. should look shit-hot when shes done.

who made that for you?

i made that for him,

and yeah hes gonna have VCT deleted, hince the reason its no longer on the VC he still wanted the whole to keep the wiring hooked up for looks i guess, if no i can always cut a new one.

hm... he shouldn't have a hole then too right?

Unless he's keeping it universal for when he might sell it someday...

this all started out with me just bead blasting his VC so he could have it powdercoated. then when i took my CF cover off the S/R i offered it to him, he was admiring it one day at zx2fast's crib on day.

i gotta get some more carbon and i may think about making more. i dunno this was a pain in the ass trying to get it out of work. they dont like you working on home projects when your supposed to be working.

um no. if i had some black paint that might make it look better. or have them powdercoated to match the VC, that might look good too.

thats all up to him. its goin on his car. not mine. when i had mine on my car it didnt have anything but gravity and the VCT harness holding it on and was noisy as hell. but i do like it with out the fastener heads

I am with him, if you can at least paint the tops of the screws or something it will be that much more clean looking.

so with this, it would make the demand for 98 vave covers less. Good idea IMO

if you had a 98 valve cover couldt you just lay down some high heat silicone and press fit it onto the ledge where the stock one fits??

just added a pic with black screws. it looks a bit better. i think gloss black would've been better than flat black, but its all i had around.

how much would you charge to do my 98? I could send you my plug cover if needed.

id just break the bond with a flat head or something

i see a lot of work ahead of me...looks like the whole surface of that cover is going to need to be washed and wet sanded before i powdercoat it.

id just break the bond with a flat head or something

and crack the c/f in the process.
