Where are you turbo guys tapping for oil at? I've seen a few places on the head with star-head bolts and was wondering if I could just take that out and screw in the fitting. Or would it be easier to just get a catch can and just use that as a oil source (I.E. let the turbo do the pumping.) Also, about how much oil can a turbo hold generally? I just want to make sure I compensate for the oil being used in the turbo.

Thanks

I have just pulled some pics off the sit as reference, which one is better I do not know. If there is no difference, GT35r zx2 location looks like the easiest to get to

Here’s where GT35r zx2 put his

And it looks like TSmiley98 put his here

the oil going to the turbo has to be pressurized, otherwise there is no way the oil will get to it. the turbo won't "pump" oil to itself.

getting the oil from the location posted above is fine. i use the galley port the is next to the ignition coil. it is also possible to get oil from the main oil galley by using one of the ports on the back side of the engine (i.e. where the oil sending unit is threaded to the block , but there are other places).

returning the oil to the engine is just done by gravity. just make sure the lowest spot in the return line is where the line enters the windage tray or oil pan.

the amount of oil a turbo "holds" is minimal (a few fl. oz.), as it only needs just enough to lube the bearings. they aren't just sitting there in a huge bath of oil.

Nice that's where I was thinking, in that same spot. Thanks Mad that helps a lot. I was pretty lost when it came to oil lol. And thank you va for the pics.
