If you’re running a wet kit what would be the largest shot you could give without changing timing?

i have run both 50 and 75 shot , change the plugs, and insure you have enough safety to prevent issues. I ran a WOT switch along with an RPM window switch to prevent it from turning on under just WOT,

changing the timing for a nitrous setup isn't just to prevent detonation. A nitrous/fuel mixture burns faster than air/fuel so retarding timing can actually cause a gain in power.

to answer your question, i wouldn't run any nitrous without changing timing.... or changing plugs, or without WOT, window and pressure safety switches. nitrous can easily destroy an engine if it isn't respected. the first time i used my nitrous system was on a chassis dyno with full sensors and data logging. i would recommend you do the same.

here is my dyno, when i finally took it in to get a perfect A/F I had run this thing without tuning for a few months, got on the dyno and hmm, the A/F was pretty much dead on, not much needed, to save money I didnt mess with timing, and left it as is..
I am sure I could have seen more power than this, but,, I am cheap..

As long as you change plugs, have a good fuel source and good equipment, run a wet shot and the recommended jets , and are not trying to go crazy , you will be ok if stay around a 50 shot ..
