OMG! Not one but both of our vehicles got possibly f*cked today in the bad weather here. (FYI- We had heavy rain and winds... tornados in some areas.) We were over a friends house when a big branch fell and hit the windshield of our Equinox. The windshield is intact, but completely cracked from one side to the other... several cracks. We don't know if there is any other damage yet, have to wait til morning to see. But our deductible is $500, so it will be coming straight out of pocket for the windshield.
And at our place, my Z did a nosedive into the dirt. We're replacing the wheel bearings and ball joints, but the ball joints haven't come in yet. Well my husband left the car up on jackstands and forgot to replace them with blocks. The driveway is gravel, but is more dirt than gravel where my car is. So the ground turned to mud and gave way, therefore causing my cars's nosedive. My hubby had also put the tires with the rotors on top of them under the car. Again we'll have to wait for morning before we can determine if any damage was done.
So yeah... I'm a little ticked! :pissed:

At least the tornadoes missed you.

Awww.. I'm sorry your having problems Jessica!
I hate to be the brighter side of life Jerk, but at least you guys weren't IN the cars when they got banged up.
Hope the Z turns out to be okay, and your windshield gets fixed for minimal costs. You might look into lowering your comp. deductible, usually it only changes your premium by a very little bit to lower it to $250.
Another thing to look into, is I know for my old insurance company, that there was no deductible on glass. For everything else there was, but not glass. Might be worth a phone call if you haven't yet.
Anyhow, that really blows! I hope everything gets better.

Usually collision deductibles are about $500. This should fall under comprehensive and that is usually a lower deducible. Mine is $100.
That's all I paid when my Z's window was busted by a thief who stole my stereo and HVAC controls. The window, all dash parts and a new stereo were all covered with that single $100 deductible.

Well now that it's daylight.... The Equinox also has a couple good-sized dents and some scratches. The sunroof looks like one side got pushed down a little. So we will have to claim on the insurance anyways.
My Z.... we think it may be okay. The ground is still too wet to get under it and check everything. But at least it's up on blocks now.
And yeah I know I need to be thankful that we're all okay. It's just a little irritating.

Well I hope that's what it is for us too. Hubby is getting ready to call the insurance company.

Windshields can be an oddball with deductables.
I had a few replaced with no deductable required.
So you might as well ask if you're covered for free - they won't get mad at you.
The Z is probably fine, except for ground in dirt on parts. Jack her up properly and hose it off before working on it.
