depends on what you want to do to your car, basically you remove the stock exhaust cam gear, and replace it with a spool and a new bolt, you can go further and remove the VCT solenoid, but that is not needed..

Just a heads up, if you delete the VCT you WILL throw a code.

Yeah, I'm interested in the removal also. It should allow you to run crower intake AND exhaust cams, correct? Is that the main benefit? I also remember hearing it was a good idea before turboing.

triple z hes looking at this from a uning aspect so(i would hope) the code will be deleted... i say take it out not many know how to tune it properly. I know cjw has had it tuned with the vct and got gains from it but your average tuner may look at you and say wtf.

For a nearly stock street car, I'd keep the VCT. First, no cost, time, or trouble are involved.
I think it gets a bit more gas mileage because it keeps the exhaust valve closed longer and gets the max out of the burning mixture [in certain circumstances]. It also makes the engine behave as if it were smaller when cruising, because of the EGR dilution. This causes a slight drop in manifold vacuum, and a resultant decrease in energy to maintain that high vacuum.
