Does anyone recall an episode where they used a sheet of plexiglass as a "wall" for a projector in some episode or if there would be some way to project the image across the entire rear windshield somehow?

I remember seeing the one that they did on a truck's tonneu cover, but not a car.

be kinda hard to project a picture on a completely clear surface...now a tinted window with a cinema wide projector.....hmmmmm

yeah, i got 20% tint
on the show they had like a plexiglass sheet hanging from the center of the ceiling and the projector was mounted in the rear. i think it'd be sweet as hell to project it on the entire rear glass though, i'm not sure how to go about doing it...

I don't think you can, due to the angle and curve.

alright, well how about the way they used a sheet of plexiglass instead then?

I don't have a car anymore, only my truck, and I don't own a projector

you can use a projector on a curved surface...any decent one anyway that allows you to change the keystone settings and what not....

you know what you should do, is put the projector in the trunk and get one of those blow up drive-in movie screens. like the did on pimp my ride.

nah...he should get one of them pocket projectors, mount it in the back of the center console and shoot it on the back window...if the projector has the flip or mirror function you could prob see it outside pretty well with 20% tint :-) would be unique

any idea how he's doing that? i've found 15.4/17" lcds that swivel to some extent, but that doesn't seem like that's what he's got; it seems like it is being projected onto the glass

I think it might've been an LCD built into the window

There is a transparent film that you put onto the glass/plexi glass to make the light get "trapped".
Check out this guys Defi guage setup in his 240sx... uses something similar... Its called a heads up display (H.U.D). Could do some research on what this stuff is laminated with to see if you can buy a piece seperate. Possibly e-mail manufactures...

yeah dude, that's sweet. if you watched the video link i posted, they said the glass had a holographic film on it that allowed it to hold the light. i think it'd be way easier/cheaper to just make something like this yourself. they both have the same transparent projection concept though.
