ok so i wanna put another battier in my truck dont ask why that dosent matter at the time. but what i wanna know is it going to hurt my alt if i dont put a switch on it and just hard wire it to the battier under the hood. so they charge at the same time.

I ran two batteries w/o a switch or anything and didn't really notice any difference.

awesome mind if i asked what the other battier ran. i bought a 750w power inverter and a friend of my has a projector. well with my stero and his projector i thought about doing our own drive in movie thing. but i wanna make the inverter a permanent item.

yeah dude, i actually had some maintenance free orbital battery i think; it's whatever napa's higher end battery is. i was running a 1000 rms system with a 15" lcd and had either the dvd player spittin out music videos or my buddies playin gamecube in the back. so i did have a power inverter in there as well much of the time. i never upgraded the alt either. however, i am now for my new zx2.

No switch is needed.
And 2 batteries are generally not needed either. One good one is best for a bunch of reasons.
But if you need it for some reason, you need it!

You may want a switch so you don't drain the stat battery.
