Looking for a full audio install for the '04 sunfire. Currently running a full stock system. Want something that will bump yet maintain good overall balance and quality.
Budget is absolute max $1000. If possible it should be kept around $500.

By "full" you mean...
-Radio
-All speakers
-Amp
-Subwoofer(s)
-Sub box
-Amp install kit
-Radio install kit
...for under $1000 shipped?
A "quality" amp that you are requesting will run you $200 without shipping alone. Let me break it down like this:
-Radio = $150
-All speakers = $100
-Amp = $200
-Subwoofer(s) = $50+ depending on how many and size
-Sub box = Your better off building one yourself
-Amp install kit = $15
-Radio install kit = $10
Those are all just generic prices without shipping and all depends on what your needs are. Subs are heavy and shipping is expensive. Overall, I should be able to keep you under the $1000 mark shipped. Just need to know EVERYTHING that you are needing.

Yeah, I'd need it all + the kits.
As far as # of subs, I'll go off your recommendation. 1 large one, 2 or 3 small ones. I'm taking your advice.
And I'm down to make my own box. Is there anything special I need to know about doing that? I've never done it before.

Ok, I'll put together a list for that too.
For the box, you could buy one local or build it yourself for what it would cost to get one to you.

JL Audio = overpriced. But, to each his own. Everyone has preferences. I like JL Audio, just not the price tags. Especially when I can get the same performance from a cheaper brand.
