i want to change out my faceplate that holds my radio for the one that only holds a cd player....

i asked if it would fit a zx2 and here is his reply...

"I can't tell for sure..there seem to be a lot of conflicting opinions out there. It sounds like the adapter itself will fit (I assume you have the roundish radio with the built in climate controls), but apparently the 2003 Z2X model uses a different wiring harness (Mazda). Crutchfield's selector also says it "doesn't fit" and suggests you don't even need a dashboard adapter. It looks like the 2003 model was kind of an odd one."

yeah..that's the very popular "metra" faceplate. there's another one.."soche" or something, but it's defrost button is on the other side. the metra is the one i hear people going with more often.

aftermarket cd players don't fit perfectly in the '03, but they can be motivated to. for some reason ford made the stock cd player a little taller and longer. a little cutting and bending of the mounting hardware, and it can fit fine.

ive got the stock am/fm cassette dash kit and the tape deck broke like years ago...
seen alot of guys with the metra and think it looks better...

looks exactly the same as my schosh one or however you spell it. 15 dollars when i still worked at best buy. mark up on car audio is ridiculous

On my '03 i filed down the side bulges so the aftermarket player would slide in.
