Man that was a pain! I thought I ordered the front mount insert from zxtuner but then realized it didn't fit...about 3 hours later I finally finished installing it into the rear mount. The top bracket bolt was a royal pain to get out! Just figured I would post a little bit of an update on my car and enjoy my 1st post...
I haven't noticed an improvement on launching but everytime I shift I feel the clutch engaging the flywheel and it is pretty nice. Shifts feel a lot more solid. Makes sense now that the tranny/motor mount is a lot more solid. Now I just need to order the front inserts. Luckily that job takes about 10 minutes to finish.
good job. took me a while the first time I did mine.

I'm looking to get the motor mounts and the master kit to install while the car is under construction. Let me know how the front mounts go when you get it done.

Tim if you need help we could do the front mounts in an hour or 2. They are a lot easier than the rear.

zxtuner should have them. But you can order them from any ES supplier. Autozone or advance or pepboys

I wonder how these compare to a torque dampner....

I think the front mount inserts will litterally take anyone who has worked on our car 15 minutes. You just remove the fan, jack the engine up, lay under the car and unbolt the motor mount bracket (2 14's on the belly brace), Then there is a bold that goes through the mount that is a 17. Take two wrenches/sockets on each and get it out. The mount comes right out and you just pop the inserts in. No problems. Easy. Just have pbblaster and a breaker bar handy.

Sounds good to me, and I have all the tools you mentioned above to do the job. I'll just add that to my "To Do" list.

You don't need to take the fan out, you can do both mounts in under 15 minutes. Just take off the 2 braces underneath the car (get a jack with a wooden block to hold the motor up) and you get easy access to both mounts. Take the bolt out of the mount and slap your inserts in. Simple. Easy. Like one word sentences.

You can do the rear mount in 15 minutes? Ford arranges the bolt on the rear mount where it can not be removed without the bracket being dropped or the tranny. We jacked up the rear of the car and lowered the front, then jacked up the tranny and shook the chassy until the bolt would come out. Then the bracket and mount fell out allowing the inserts to be "inserted"

I remember that one of the mounts on the ATX can be replaced the same as the MTX. Does anyone recall which one it is?

It is enjoyable. The top bracket bolt for the rear is just a bitch to remove.

Do you have any vibration?

All you have to do is take the bolts out of the bracket on the rears, thats like 5 minutes at the most. But if you don't have the right tools for the job then it will be hard for you.

Both mounts in 15 minutes?
Nonsense.
The rear is a royal PITA.
Often putting the inserts in just the front mount is enough to make a car much better.

I don't think anyone could get both mounts in a fully put together car in 15 min. The front one alone can be done in 15min. First time I dropped it and put it back in it took me 30min following a write up.

Yeah, but your also talking about removing the fan which isn't necessary unless you have a huge tumor on your arm. The rear is a little difficult but it's seriously only like 15 minutes to 20 minutes to do on one jackstand. You just have to find out how flexible you are I guess. I didn't have a problem doing mine. Just get an air tank, an impact gun, some impact sockets, a jack with a wood block, 5 minutes later you have both metal braces off with the engine mounts right in your face. Front is no problem, rear will take you twice as long as front. If you have Gearwrench ratchet wrenches and you have been a mechanic professionally for at least 5 years it will take you 15 minutes to do. Add 5 minutes to get your jack and a stand setup. 20 minutes total. If your weak and don't have the torque in your wrist or arms to take mounting bolts out from the trans with a small ratchet wrentch add 15 more minutes figuring out how to fit regular ratchets and sockets in there.
