Does anyone have the old writeup for installing a pacesetter header? I'm putting mine on tomorrow and I could definitely use any help I can get.

take bolts off add bolts.... take off heat sheild... take off cat. remove oem manifold.
replace with paceshitter and have fun with the upperleft hand corner and dont break your dipstick... fairly easy to do.
self explainitory once you look at it. and i hope you have a breaker bar any questions pm me im willing to help you out and besure after 500 miles or so of driving with the pacesetter retightern the bolts. One more thing it's prolly a good idea to get a new gasket.

What about the sealing lip that has to be ground/filed down on the cat?

Definitly do not skip this step. We did and the car sounds like a lawnmower. I'm gonna have to take the cat back out when I find time and grind it down. Also the krylon 1200 degree paint I used burned off within the first 30 seconds of starting the car.

Write-up for installing Pacesetter:
Step 1. Throw the Pacesetter away.
Step 2. Get better quality header, one made from paper would be better.
Step 3. Install better header.

make sure you wrap your throttle cable and cruise control cable with a heater hose (slice it and wrap cable around it) because it will get close to the header and melt. And enjoy your subaru sounding exhaust.

Use a breaker bar or cheater bar. Are you sure you are turning it the correct way?
