What Tb will bolt up the the zx2 with little or no mods done to it?
If you have a list, can you put the size of it also?

I think the Focus Central throttle body will hook up just fine, but it's pretty expensive. There are some other ones I think, but I'm not sure.

with the focus sentral one you have to modify the tps. the only one that is a plug and play is the gude which is 58mm

Don't you have to mod the IM for the Focus CTB as well?

This is one of the last mods that you should do.
You need a note from your lawyer, doctor, or mother to obtain one.
It sounds good but does little unless you have a turbo and need to unplug the system.

Stock TB is 55MM , the manifold is 55MM . Gude is 58MM , so you need to trim the manifold opening a little . The Focus Central is 65MM , the manifold has to be opened to the max , it'll go out to 66MM . With the FC TB you'll have to modify the ZX2 linkage and TPS.

I have a one of a kind 57.6 mm TB that flows 18% to 19% better than stock at equivalent pressure drop.

18% better flow would allow you to move the HP peak from 5750 rpm to 6800 rpm assuming you keep the displacemnt at 2.0 liters. To accomplish that takes some serious cam, head and exhaust work.

Unless your engine has serious modifications, it makes no sense to go overboard with a large TB until other work is done.

I know this is an ancient thread, but what about the 65mm thunderbird throttle body? 'redlox' may or may not be selling one.
i'd imagine it requires some adaptation, right?

I was kind of curious about the FC and thunderbird/crown vic throttle bodies too. I'm going to be doing a head build in the near future.

I'll be running:
Gude Head
Gude cams or possibly web cams
Gude TB
At least a ported stock intake manifold, FRIM if I can afford it
MMI intake
Header
2.5" trubendz
Tuning

Would there be any advantage to going with a bigger TB or would the Gude one be enough? If I'm going to go through the trouble of swapping the head and cams, i want to do it right the first time and uncork the whole system.

Or maybe i should have just posted this in the newb section. But are there any stock throttle bodies off other cars that bolt up into place of the stock one on the zx2 with little or no modification? Thanks.

Well, OK then.
It'll bolt on perfectly with no mods and will give you 23 HP.
Better, or worse?
