E. TN meet in August

Alright, for those interested I am trying to organize a meet for those of you who can drive out for the day. There is no room for you to spend the night at my house but a hotel around here is pretty cheap for the night. $35 to $100 depending on your comfort level. There are two plans for this meet. A morning drive up the Dragon. Information about the dragon can be found here...http://www.tailofthedragon.com/ http://www.tailofthedragon.com/maps_directions.html. It is a very fun twisty curvey mountain road with wonderful scenery. Another idea is an evening cruize up to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinberg area. Tons of crap to do up there everyday...


This is just to get an idea of whom would really like to do this. Everyone and their family is invited to join in on the fun. You don't have to drive your Z.............Stomper/Gun...I'd love to have you guys come down and join.

If your comming from another state, get your friends to go with you. The more the marrier. Post this in your local section if you wish, I don't care. Alot of NC, GA, KY, guys could make it a one day thing if they wanted but it's pretty cheap to spend the night in a hotel around here.....split rooms with friends or girlfriends whatever. It just give you a chance to rest before the drive home.

Thinking about the drive up the dragon starting at around 9:00am, lunch (maybe grill hotdogs??) , back down the dragon, across Foothills Parkway to the Towsend area, through Waresvalley to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. This would be a nice little "scenic" drive" for the day and should take up most of the morning into the afternoon.

In Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg there are tons of places to eat, rige go carts, swim, shop like crazy etc. It's a tourist town. I'm trying to plan the date around any "Rod" shows as the city would be beyond packed.

Now for those who will be driving a distance, here's my thought. You guys could make arraingments to arrive late Friday or frist thing Saturday. (if we need to shuffle times so be it.) Hotel's in the area are around $40 a night for a nice room. If enough people expressed interest, I'd be willing to reserve your room ahead of time for you (your paying me first then I get your room) and try to get a "block" of rooms for those staying the night. This gives the ones who travel a little ways a good nights rest before the trek home on Sunday.

This could be "The Meet" in the south if we make it that way. I'm open to ideas and suggestions. This is for us all to get together and meet those we chat with often. I'm doing this for you guys not for me. This will be a lot of work trying to organize this and trying to make it happen. Save a vacation day, ask for the day off, whatever you need to do. Just plan on comming out and having a good time with some good people. A little relaxation and some beautiful scenery make life fun. Like I've said before, bring your family and friends no matter what kind of vehicle you may be riding in....

It can cause people to stress and possibly leave early or not show up in the first place. I don't want that to happen to anyone. Pigeon Forge has tons of stuff from shopping, mini golf, amusement park stuff, go carts, just about anything to interest someone. If you bring your ladies, theres tons of places for them to shop or window shop. There just so much there to do it's crazy....

If we end up in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area, it's about an hour away from Cherokee, NC. I'd say it'd take you around 3 hrs to get home from there. Maybe a couple of us can split a room for the night, drink and go home the next day?? WHo knows....anything's possible.

I don't care if you bring your family. You said you wanted to hit Gatlinburg some time. A hotel for the night is really cheap and it's only a 4hr drive home for you guys.....This is an event for anyone to attend. I may have some friends from my local SVTOA chapter show up for the cruize. If needed, you can drive out to my house and just ride with me all day.......

Yep lots of different places to stay for the night. I'm actually gona recomend that everyone stay the night. For those of us who will rent a room for the night hopefully will be like me and let those short on cash crash on the floor. I don't want anyone to fall asleep while driving.

I've gotta take 81 to get to knoxville and that takes a bit longer overall to get to nashville, so I am guessing it evens out back around 16.

How far do you live from CYB?? It was an 8 hr drive from there to my house. I thought you were like 3 hrs or less from there....You'll be comming down I-81 but don't know where you'll pick it up at twards your house...

That's sounds like the smartest thing to do. Like I said before, I can reserve the rooms closer twards the date. Plan on two nights costing around $100 for a hotel by yourself, might be cheaper but a good # to plan on. If there are others that want to "chip" in with someone who is plannig on getting a room, then the cost per room goes down per person. You all get the point.

I'm trying to make Saturday an all day event with the cruiz up and down the Dragon and through the mountains to the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. If everybody really was interested and willing to pay their share, enough of us could actually rent a cabin or a chalet. There's another thought. I'll start checking into that as well.

This is just a quick example of some of the types of cabins and the general prices....a 4 bedroom can range from $200 to $500. It all depends if people are bringing their girlfriends or family or if it's just gona be a bunch of guys having a few drinks then just bring sleeping bags and we can get a small 1 room and everyone crash on the floor or porch...anythings possible and rates do vary between companies...


I'll need serious interest and deposit money if this is the decision we make. I'm not going to "front" anyones money for anything. If you don't have the money don't mention interest.
