so my second mtx finaly went, the mechanic says its more than likely due to low fluid, but i changed it and i know it was full..

needless to say they are going to rebuild it, and ill have a warrenty on it.

sigh.

nah the first one was probably my fault(atx) but i was a stupid n00b ricer)

the second one was likely due to fluid(RP) BUT it died after one day so who knows

and the third one, reverse was messed up when i got it(it bounced alot) and i think it had to do with the fluid not being changed, or the fluid leaking

i say "this dam car" but i know its not the cars fault, its merely a playful scapegoat

well i found out today from the transmission guy that pretty much all of the syncro's went out, fifth gear was gone, first, and the 3 and 4th fork were out, he said the main shaft needed to be replaced, and the couter shaft(?im assuming the output shaft?)

sigh. probably wont be till next week

wow sounds like your getting dicked around.

all syncro's went out at once? doubtful unless you we're burried on the speedometer.. but even then... doubtful
5th gear is toast? have him show it to you, doubtful to being its 5th .. it would be hell to try and destroy it.
1st shares the fork with 2nd
3 and 4th are the same, you'd have to be in two gears at once, or completely retarded/high rate of speed to fuck both up at once.

So what happened when it went out on you? sounds like this is going to be a waste of money regaurdless of the warraunty.

i was in the interstate in fifth gear, at about 80 ish, and it just made a loud noise, and poped out of fifth, then when i tried to drive, it would roll but the wheels would vibrate to no end.

and before i was having problames with getting it in first gear, the second gear syncro was toast, and it would get stuck in fifth gear. i think it had a fluid leak

I have a 2001 ATX ZX2...I just put my 6th transmission in my car and I am still under 100k. It was covered under the warranty until this last one which was caused by bad roads anyway (you should see what happened to my transmission)...turns out the reason why I had so many was, according to this last mechanic, because Ford kept rebuilding the same faulty transmission that I started out with so every 20k miles on the dot the car would start chugging. So...I feel your pain, trust me I do. But...I still love my car, so very much.

well ill admit, my atx went bad cuz i was stupid and a n00b, the first mtx never worked right from the start, and blew the diff in half a day. and the second mtx lost fluid causing it to granade
