yup, good 'ol cinco de Mayo...

But seriously, I live near Dallas Texas, and I had to celebrate the holiday today at school. WTF? Amercians don't go into Mexico and make them celebrate a single victorious battle in the korean war. (which, iirc is the closest to "losing" a war we've come, though it's hard to lose a war when you aren't fighting to win, and you are defending an ideo, not land, imo)

Also, In Pennsylvania (from whence I came) I didn't have to celebrate any wierd Canadian holidays...

the US has our own bizaar holidays to celebrate... like thanksgiving.

All it is, is remembering something mexico once did. Has nothing to do w/ America. All we ever think about is Mexicans.
Just look at the burrito. You have all that Mexican meet wrapped in a white flour toritila. WHITE FLOUR..... WHITE flour. And then segregated from the rest of the food is the black bean dip. BLACK bean dip segregated. And then you have some tequila's. Might as well call them a tequila mocking bird because 4 shots later, somebody's getting blamed for somethin they didn't do!

Yup, and its not even our independence day, its just a battle that we won to the French (num. 1 army at the time), goverment and schools have the day off, but everything else its normal.

2 years ago i was in San Diego and a lady told me ""Happy 5 de Mayo"" !! wtf we dont even say that over here, lol.

Its just the wonders of marketing and make people spend money, and to get drunk !!.
