205/40/17 to maintain overall diameter.
How's that for service? 3 replies in as many minutes.

Ditto, and they will handle MUCH better than the 205, and give a little rim protection. Are the rims 7 inch or 7.5 wide?

215's on a 40 offset will rub his strut.

Curious about the 215 width. Wouldn't that create an hourglasseffect and thereby making the tire "squish" on cornering? Or am I incorrect, and the 205 would need to stretch to fit the rim?

205 on a 7" wide rim is a good fit and the sidewall won't flex. 215 is a good fit as well, but may get a bit of sidewall flex (hence rubbing the strut with a 40mm offset).

i had 215's on my wheels in alsaka...and they were 17x7 40mm...only rubbed on really bad bumps with passengers. i almost NEVER rub with the 42mm offset i have now.
