Engine oil?
If you are racing on a hot day, it can get over 200F. If it goes over 220F or so for long periods, consider using a slightly thicker oil.
But normal temps are from ambient to 175 in winter, and up to 220 in summer.
Around 200 is normal and good in Summer.

Oil temp and coolant temps are not directly related. The oil temp has no regulation so it will vary according to conditions. Ambient temp, how hard the engine is being run all have an effect. Temps up to 250*F are OK.

99ford, just so you know. The temperature gauge is for coolant only. We have no oil temp gauge.

I have a prosport oil temp gauge. Thats why I posted in here but I didnt write anything about that in the first post. I installed it last week and was just curious as to what normal was. It looked like the temp rose kind of slow but stays around 180* 190*.

Those are great oil temps.
But it depends on where you get them. Some spots are naturally cooler/hotter than others.

Im using a sandwich adapter between the block and the oil filter.

You and I have got to get together sometime and put some gauges in my z.
I have wanted some for forever, but have no idea how to hook them up.

Oil warms up very slowly. Oil temps somwhere close to coolant temp is ideal.
