Ok, so I'm looking to hard wire my fog lights so they come on automatically when I turn my parking lights on (a.k.a., when the dash lights are on, the fog lights are on). I think I found a relay that works, the link is here: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=330-070.
I really don't know anything about relays, but I think it will work. A diagram is below too (replace 12V power from stereo deck with the power from the dash lights; replace the remote amp power on with the 12V positive to the fog lights; replace the ground with continuing on in the dash light circuit):

Now the question is, is will this relay work, and then what wire powers the dash lights?

or you can just wire to the inners.

Im just saying on your inner lights before the plug.
Did your Z come stock with fogs or did you put em in and add a switch?

they are aftermarket, but my goal is to get a set of factory ones (so i don't have to worry about f'd up alignment) and then instead of worrying about finding factory wiring, just hard wire them (with a relay) so they come on with the dash lights (i.e., so they are on with the parking lights, and the headlights, and the brights). And i thought in the meantime, why not wire my aftermarket ones like this too.
And I just don't understand what you mean by the inner lights before the plug. If you mean the turn signals, wouldn't the fog lights then flash? lol

yeah that relay will work.. but for the 12v turn on wire use the MARKER light on your inners just usea test light and splice into what ever wire is on .. one will beconstant on marker and one will be for the turnsignal .. use the test light .. i cant remeber which wire it is right off

The only thing is that i want to keep the relay inside the cabin of the car, do to it's "open" nature. So it doesn't get wet and short... We get some pretty big puddles here

Use the read wire for positive and black for ground it will work fine.
I live in Ohio, we get huge rainstorms and floods alot and there fine, just solder them, use electric tape and youll be fine.

ok... and then if the bulb burns out that I wired the relay into the fog lights won't operate?

no they will still work.
I just hard wired the wires from the fogs into the turn signals. Left on left right on right.
