There is a small hole in my ds front axle, it's on the boot closest to the tranny. It's leaking oil stuff out and idk wut to do? Do I have to replace the whole axle or can just the boot be replaced? or can the boot be repaired?

Is the hole in JUST the boot or in the actual axle?

it's in just the boot. But the boot looks impossible to replace...

Don't think it can be repaired either, at least done so it would last.
Never had this problem thankfully.
I'd hope there is a way to replace it...would be a stupid design if not.

The boot can be replaced.
It requires yanking the axle.

the boot can be replaced.. but i know its a pain .. and a boot cost 30 bucks plus grease.. then you figure time and effort.. a NEW axle only cost 70 bucks at oreillys here with a lifetime wty.. .. and its less work ..

For $70, I'd just get a new axle. You get 2 rebuilt joints, and 2 new boots, and a lot less grief.
