I will never ever ever EVER use FTD.com again. I used to use them all the time, up until 3 months ago.
My problems actually started a year ago. Our anniversary is actually on Valentines Day, and it works out well because I only have to get one gift. :) I do tend to try and overdo it for the wife on that day though. Last year, I ordered a nice (read expensive) flower bouquet from FTD.com for my wife to be delivered to her at work. It was actually more complicated than it sounds because we have a joint bank account (and everything else). I went through great lengths to get cash out of an ATM a week before, deposit the money into my personal account, and change my password online just in case. I ordered a week in advance to give them plenty of time, and assumed all was well.
Fast forward to the 14th.. I wait all day hoping to get a call thanking me for the flowers, but no such luck. After work I try to avoid spilling the beans by asking vague questions, but I fail. I finally break down and explain the situation, thus spoiling my surprise. The next morning I call FTD to find out what happened. They tell me that it was an issue with the local florist, and they apologized profusely. They refunded me the full cost, and delivered the flowers anyway that day. I was unhappy, but at least they took care of it and did what was right.
Thats probably the only reason I ordered from them again this year. Almost the exact same scenario. I go through great lengths to surprise her with flowers at work on a special day. I even gave them 2 weeks notice this time. I figured there would be no way to fuck this up, right? Wrong. At the end of the day, no flowers. I stop by the grocery store on the way home and pick up a crappy $29 bouquet of wilted flowers. I was EXTREMELY unhappy to say the least.
The next morning I call them as soon as I get in. The rep again explains that it was an issue with the local florist, but she had to contact them to find out what the problem was, and she would get them delivered today. I told her that it was unnecessary, since it was a day late and I had already bought flowers last night. She said she would note my account not to deliver the flowers, and issue a refund ASAP. I was supposed to get a call back later that day.
I never heard back from them, but the flowers did get delivered. The next morning I noticed a $30 credit in my bank. I called them before the end of the day, and immediately asked for a manager. She apologized again for the mixup with the flowers, and explained that I recieved a partial (25%) refund. I told her that was unacceptable, and I was promised a full refund. She said that since the flowers were already delivered, they could only offer a partial refund. The first rep apparently made notes that said I would still like the flowers delivered, and would accept a partial refund.
It took over 3 weeks to get my money back, but that was not before spending several hours on the phone with different managers. I eventually had to write an email to the corporate office to get my money back. I absolutely despise that company. :pissednana:
1800flowers.com FTW!
That sucks. Have never had a problem personally.

Me neither, up until last year. It is probably more of a local florist issue, but I feel the company should still be responsible for taking care of the customer.
