please dont judge, just trying to see if it would work,i was wondering if we could use the msp lsd ment for an atx for the z and use the axels of an mx3 atx for this swap and then get the gaers hardened and i cant remember what it is called exactly but on this site i went to they made the clutches bigger and stronger for the z,i thionk that the clutches on the atx have 2 or 3 and the kit comes with 5(i dont know what the clutch is called exactly for the atx)
anyone everattemt this ,i would love to do this becouse i m not capable of driving a mannual, everyones opinions and thoughts are appreciated

i had problems with my ATX with the clutches failing and the selenoids also failing.
i had to get it rebuilt, so i dont beat on it anymore.. but anyways, im sure you can get
rebuild kits from like jegs or somewhere. i have seen rebuild kits and other tranny parts
on jayco's site they also offer upgraded trannys, but i have heard on here that they
dont do good work..

Our ATX is based off of the 93 Mazda Protegee. About 90% of the internals are the same as the Protegee ATX and 2nd gen Escort ATX. The ZX2/MX3 MTX differential is bigger and won't fit in the ATX. The MTX axles are 28 spline and ATX axles are 24 spline. With that said. There are a few upgrades that are available for the ATX. The final drive ratio is 3.74:1 . But a 4.06:1 ratio differential was installed in a few 95-96 ATX Escorts that is a direct drop-in replacement. A shift kit is also available (A real shift kit, not just the resistor mod). Kevlar clutches are also available (but difficult to find and expensive).
Now if you are really serious. The Quaife LSD differential for the 93 Mazda Protege will work, but requires some machining for the spedo gear and requires welding and re drilling the bolt holes for mounting to the ring gear.
