I don't think so. They apparantly have separate financial arrangements in their marriage, which is a bit unusual, but if that's what they prefer it's their business and no one elses. And I don't see why it's necessary for any candidate to make their returns public.
Besides - John McCain is running for president, not Cindy McCain. I don't think he has an obligation to make his finances public, and she sure as hell doesn't since she's not the one up for office.

Not that I'm going to vote for him anyway, I was just curious as to what other people's opinion of her refusing to show her "Mrs. Big Bucks" tax return would be. lol

I agree that everyone should be able to see their tax returns, w2's and so on and so forth. If you're going to lead a country, you're life will be under a microscope and you will have people holding you accountable. If i was running for pres i would expect it and be fine w/ it. Only people who have something to hide wouldn't.

That's what I was thinking when I first read the article.....what does she have to hide? I understand HE's running and not her, but they're together, so if the others can do it, they should be able to, too. Maybe she's saying she won't to get him more publicity? LOL
And why is it that only the wealthy can "afford" to run for president? They either have a lot of money to start with, or can raise millions to spend on a campaign. Why can't an ordinary Joe run for office without having to spend millions? I don't think it should be a matter of who has the biggest pocketbook, but the best goals, ideas for the country.....

The way i see it, the American people decide that. They want to see an accomplished individual run for office, someone that can manage their own life before they try to manage a country.
Me on the other hand, i would vote an average Joe into office if i agree'd with his principles and views. It has nothing to do w/ the richest candidate, but the best imo.

I greatly agree with that. And i think that McCains' wife should show her taxes, but thats not the issue that will sway voters this election.

It will hurt McCain a bit, but given that they file their taxes separately, she is entitled to her privacy. It comes down to how much privacy she is willing to give up to suport her husband...

The others file jointly, so of course the other candidates spouse's would be made public. But I see no reason for Cindy's to be made public.
As far as the average Joe running for office... how is he supposed to be able to pay for the advertising and travel for the campaign? What about him is going to convince someone to give him their money and take a chance on him?

IDK, but jointly or not, I still think, since they ARE married and together, she should at least do it so she doesn't look like she's refusing to do it. Maybe it's simply because I want to see what an heiress makes......lol.
The average Joe probably wouldn't be able to come up with the millions it takes to gallavant all over the countryside, campaigning and whatnot, but WHY does it always have to be about money? I read that Hillary has sunk 11 million of her own money into her campaign and may not be able to get hardly any of it back. Shit happens, and I'm sure 11 million won't hurt her or Billy boy, but I guess I was just wondering if there was some other way to be successful on the campaign trail other than spending a king's ransom. lol

It's only a problem if you are actively looking for faults to find.

Odumma's conception that we have 57 or more States in the USA is a GOOD thing.
It will confuse his HAMAS supporters when they try and plot against us.
The Democratic Party is truly a Jackass Convention this year.
