Like the title says. I have engine noise from my subs and my speakers when the head unit is off. When i turn the head unit on the noise goes away. This is in a gmc sonoma.

where did you run your wiring? Anywhere near the stock harness will cause this, also shitty plugs will do it, as well as crappy plug wires

signal runs passenger side, power runs driver side. I ran the power wire close to the stock harness.

When I disconnected the power to the amp the noise went away.

Faulty plug wires will cause a noise. There should be a capacitor on the coil. Missing or bad will cause a noise.

What type of amp do you have? Some amps will produce engine noise. I had an amp that kept producing engine noise (alternator noise) and that would play through the speakers in the car. It was very annoying.

I had the same problem with my jetta, I changed everything, even all new wiring kit and same issue, swapped out my bosch spark plugs for denso iridium's with built in resistors and the issue went away

Found out the problem. Cheap Rca cable and also I had ground loop isolator and that also caused the noise.
