ZX2R

My wife has owned this Z since 01. It remained unmodded for all of its life.
It survived a couple of wrecks before the front clip needed to be replaced. This is when the modding began.

This clip came with the dashboard forward, so I picked up a leather steering wheel, fog lights, cruise control, tilt steering along with some spare and needed parts.

With easy access the ES Hyperflex kit was installed along with a 21mm RSB.

Since the car needed to be painted we decided to get a kit and do some minor body mods.

This is an early 99 that came with the "Escort" badge on the left of the trunk and of course the Blue Oval on the right. These were removed, along with the body side molding.

We decided to put the Roush wing on, but it had to be modified to fit.

Since the paint was out, we got to the 98 V/C and the Iceman and the mirrors.

The kit was put on, but the wing had an issue with the stock R/C car antenna so it was cut.

While all of the exterior was happening the interior was gutted. The dash was cracked from the last accident and needed to be replaced. Put this in while the steering wheel was out.

This is when it was decided to do all of the ICE. First the car was lined with pieces of mdf liquid nailed to the body. Then Noisekill was sprayed to line the body panels, rear deck and doors.

The stock wiring was rerun from the backseat/trunk passage through the corners of the deck. The wiring for the front speakers was run as well.

The HU is a basic Alpine MP3/WMA player with Ipod connectivity. The EQ is a 28 band Rockford Symmetry EPX2 with 7 preamp outputs for this EQ.

We purchased a few audio parts to use the EPX2 appropriately. Kicker SSMB8 8" mid bass and two Directed Audio amps an 1100D & 1100D5. We already had Kicker K series components, Directed 1100d & 4500 and 2 12" L7's.

The sub box was made then everything was put together.
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/3/7521301174.jpg (http://www.putfile.com/pic/7833781)
Behind the left amp is the Batcap 2000(the best audio investment). Behind the right is the Symmetry EQ.

After the audio was installed the performance was tended to. The Iceman, V/C and FR plug wires were installed, followed by the freshly VHT'd Kami header and SS Trubendz Borla exhaust.

That is pretty much everything to date. I still have Powder's Udp, NGP0 with SCT Blue Chip, EGT rear disk, H&R's springs and the 8" mids to install. I plan to get Tokico S/R's, 15" Rota Slips, TWM SS, Carbontech shiftboot, MX-3 Recaro's, Centerforce Clutch and Phantom Grip.

Good jorb!

When u do wheels, go with at least 16"s cause u have the kit on. Slipstreams are nice rims, but 15"s look way too small with a kit.
