atx to mtx question...

ive been fumbling through the forums for different things and ran across someones reply that they did an atx to mtx swap and it only cost them 200 dollars?

does that sound about right?

and for those of you who have done this,whats a rough estimate cost wise to do just a basic swap?

It can cost only $200. The idea is that you'll pay about $800 or less for a wrecked MTX. You use all of the parts for your swap then sell the spare parts plus your old ATX and make back some of the money. Then it can be free or very cheap in the end.

no thats not true at jy by my house the tranny for the z cost 105 dallers plus tax and all the other misc parts are 100 dallers ,the only real cost is messing something up while you are installing it

-$300 for Wrecked ZX2 with MTX.
+$300 Made about how much i paid for the MTX.
-$250 Broke tranny putting it in
+$100 Had car scraped
-$150 Clutch Disc Kit( 2nd time i wanted a new kit)
-$100 Clutch disc Broke after 2,000 miles along with pilot bearing
-$60 Fluids like coolant, and Trans fluid

total-$460

Moral- Don't exspect this project to be cheap or easy. Make sure you have helpers, space, a back up car, and more then enough money to cover your ass, because shit will break. I have taken the trans out 3-4 times. And im exspecting it to come out another few times. I have to swap gears because my synchro's are shot on the junkyard MTX and then swap housings. Then i plan on gettin a performance clutch disc set, a Performance fly wheel a Phantom grip. How much extra money do i have now? -$1000 lol. I hate credit card bills. But spending with them is FUN!!!
