So we could never get the original trans to work again, despite a complete rebuild. Scrap yard and used parts searches turned up nada, except for 1 tranny which was sworn to be from a DOHC car. Lo and behold, after putting all the new parts in it and putting it up in the car-the bolt patterns don't completely line up. So it works, but has one bolt on the bell housing which isn't in, and one on the starter which isn't in (so like 2 bolts holding the starter in, and I think he said 5 or 6 holding the trans to the engine).

Anyone know if this could turn into a problem down the line (from experience, if possible......I can theorize on what might happen, but am trying not to think about it). I haven't got to drive it yet, but homie who's helping (doing most of the work actually) drove it around and said it seems to be AOK.

Just looking for input.

I think if you are keeping it stock... i don't see a problem... but if you are turboing it and shifting crazy... then maybe... but still, I honestly don't see a big problem

I'm going to do a couple minor things, mainly intake and exhaust and some sensor mods but nothing major. Not trying to make a race car, just a cool ride to work maybe (if it holds together....).

Thanks for the input....I was just wondering if anyone had actually done this and ended up with a catastrophic failure or something.
