So in July I will be taking my ZX2 to Road America in Wisconsin with the rest of my racing team to see what lap times I could pull. Most likely I will enjoy it and will get a SCCA license either this year or next year, and participate in at least one major event in 2009. I just have to decide weather or not to keep this car a weekend car or track car. Has anyone else taken their ZX2 to circuit track?

ive don a few track days at Carolina Raceway.. doin another in july for the 24hrs race.. just fyi.. circuits are a LOT harder on the car than a regular autocross .. be cautious if yo plan on using the same car as your dd and track attack car..

I have run Lime Rock, Pocono east and north course, Waterford Hills, Mosport. Plan on running Summit Point in the fall.

I rarely drive it as it is anyway. I'm going to just play it by ear... if I enjoy it I will rip apart the ZX2 and just leave the essentials in for the track, get some camber plates, roll cage, and seat harness. I don't have a ton of money to upgrade the engine so I will join a stock motor FWD class, which means taking out my hi-torque intake cam and putting in a stocker. We will see, I just wanted to know who else has participated in this sort of event. And if there is any good money in it.

I want to take it to the track, 1/4 and autocross sometime once it's built

What kind of event is this ? Is it an SCCA school ? If you are going for a license then you will need a fully prepped race car per their rules.
I understand they do have a track day class now where you can run your street car. Get the rules and info from the event people.
Money ? don't make me laugh. There is no money to made in amateur road racing.

I've driven mine at Infineon in Sonoma, Ca and Thunderhill in Willows, CA.

Here's the in-car from this past Friday.
