You will gain power with a better exhaust/header. (4-2-1 is a good design) the right size is 2.25 and 2.50 for zx2's. You'll see better gas mileage too, due to unrestricted exhaust flow.

Going too big will make all your torque go bye-byes.

This is part of why ricer cars are so slow.

Our stock exhaust is about 1 7/8".
Headers and a larger exhaust work like any other vehicle.
Why would ours be different?
You gain power - usually at mid/high RPMs and full throttle.
With cams and a better intake, the gains are greater from having a good exhaust.
A total exhaust set up IS a lot of money. It's not the best bang for the buck like a UDP.
But if you wanna breathe, you gotta have it!

Just a header and exhaust will only help a mild bit. So in a sence they are correct. But if you do intake work, and throw cams or gears in, then it will help out in the long run. But at the end of the day its still your car so who gives a rats arse. do what you want to it.

A header will give you around 10 whp, depending on your mods. It's a great way to get power! The stock manifold is pretty bad.
