Had a few folks tell me I shouldn't be launching at more than 1800rpm if I like my differential where it is... Any input? Hitting up the track for the first time in my Z, this Friday.

rofl @ starting a thread for me... Thanx, I guess.

Your fine anywhere you want to launch unless you run slicks, your cheap tires will spin out before the differential shatters. Try launching at 3000rpm's, if it spins out try 2500rpms, if it spins out still try 2000rpms, if it spins out try 1500rpms, if it spins out try 1000rpms, if it spins out try going off idle, if it still spins out see your local tire dealer. I'll guess you at 16.4 1/4 mile at best. My 5 year old Fusion ZRi's were good launching off 3500rpms, 3000rpm would've been better... but I gripped at a 4500rpm launch before when the tires were in it's prime. Your stock clutch can only handle so much too don't forget, it will just slip if its too much for it.

MTX or ATX? I launch mine at 3k and slip the clutch alittle and take first to 7k.

MTX, hold your foot wherever 3K is, just let go of the clutch but dont mash the gas just yet, once your car lurches forward then mash the gas. Some might just dump the clutch and mash the gas right away, your just going to end up smoking the tires.

LoL I accidentally launched at around 5,000 one time. I only spun for a second or so, and pulled a 7.3 0-60.
