basically we will do whatever, play Wii/PS3, work on cars, and there will be a womens football game at 7 that night. if you want to go it is 10 dollars

im not the best at planning parties so all ideas are welcome. we will have the meet at larkas house

my 2 cents, one all you need is a breaker bar and the ability to turn over the motor for an UDP.

second, the only reason I would go to the old drag meets was to see whose ZX2 penis was bigger at the drag strip (mine reigned supreme), Just having a get together seems alittle boring personally. Good luck though, even though I am 45 minutes from austin.

What's so wrong with just getting together and hanging out??? Gas is expensive right now- and a lot of people are going to be spending a good deal of money to get to Austin or Brenham- they might not have money to go to a dragstrip. Which would be in Temple or San Antonio anyway...

There is the problem, South Texas members don't want to drive up to the DFW area just as much as the North Texas members don't want to drive down there. Thats why there has never been a really big meet. A few years ago the biggest that we could get with the help of Escortunderground forums was about 8 people (including girlfriends). We all drove out to Nopi (where I took 1st place ;)) and as soon as we got there everyone bailed. I sat there pretty much at day with my car with only one other member.

As for not being able to afford going out to the drag strip- I can't right now. I might not be able to in June. Right now I have about $400 worth of stuff I need to do to my car. And I still need to pay bills and all that fun stuff. That's just me. Others have already stated that they would have issues paying for gas to a meet. I would think those people would rather spend their $15 or whatever on food when they get here, rather than going to a drag strip and being hungry. But I don't know, I'm not them. And a couple of people who live with their parents- who owns the car? I don't know about strips in Texas, but a lot of other places- the driver has to be the owner or the owner at least needs to be present.

Depending on what's in Serious' garage, I'd be more than willing to kidnap Corby, drive to DFW, then come back down to Austin. So I'd be more than willing to have at least part of the meet at the drag strip in Temple. Then maybe afterwards we can hang out around there somewhere (doesn't one of you live in Temple???) or we can head back to Austin or Brenham and hang out. Corby and I both have room if people need to spend the night before heading back.

I just hope that if we do go to the drag strip for the meet that I have my car running right or I'm going to be sad/pissed the whole time. :mad:

OMG, Next month i will be getting my month schedule I'm a Manager so I need to know a month before taking a day off. If everything goes right i may be getting the 14th off. So is it Austin of Corby's yard lollllllllllllll.

The meet will be at my place in Austin. I figured we can hang out or whatever. If you need to spend the night- I need to know NOW.

My roommate plays professional women's tackle football, and has a game that night at 7pm. If you're interested in going to that- it's $10 for a ticket. I HAVE to go, so I'll be leaving my house at 645- the reason why I need to know if you want to spend the night.

Food- Right now I don't have a grill, but might have one before the meet. If I don't have a grill- it'd have to be stove/oven cookable or microwavable. At the moment it's a kind of bring your own food thing. If I get a grill before the meet, I'll probably get hot dogs and burgers, but if you want something else- go ahead and bring it.

Drinks- 24 packs of soda are on sale at WalMart right now. Bring what you want. I usually only have Diet soda in my house. Some of you are under 21- so I'm not going to get into "other" drinks. If you do you bring your own and want to drink, I WILL want to check ID- just covering my own ass.

Just throwing this out there- I have 2 dogs. I know people like to be warned about pets. :biggrin: If you have an issue with them, I can lock them in a room.

If you're coming from up north- come down 35 and get off at Parmer Lane. Go left, come down Parmer until Harris Branch. Go right on Harris Branch, take it to Giles and turn right. Go forward, Giles turns into Johnny Morris at 290. Go forward across 290, go down Johnny Morris to Daffan Lane, turn left. Go down Daffan until you see the gate for Oak Crest. Mapquest will tell you to come down 35 until 290, but coming down Parmer will save about 15 minutes.

If you're coming from down south- come up 35 to Highway 290. Go right (east) on 290. Take 290 to Johnny Morris Road, turn right. Come down Johnny Morris to Daffan, take a left and follow it to the gate.

If you're coming from the east- Come down 290 until Johnny Morris, go left on Johnny Morris. Take that to Daffan and go left, follow it to the gate.

I think Austin/San Antonio would probably be the most centrally located area, even though I know that kinda sucks for people in El Paso, McAllen and DFW. On my part, I work Saturdays, but would be willing to take the day off to have a whole weekend, otherwise I'm good for any Sunday
