Well, i figured i'd start one of these since i have a garage now and have started working on it again. I have no recent pics but will have an excuse to take some now.

Here she is the day i got her:

some pics of my d44 axles i'm rebuilding:

I'll get some updated pics when i get the axles painted and start gettin them back together. I've also got the the Scout in the garage now so i'll be starting to sand on her and hopefully get the starter, batter and new cables in soon. Will be posting pics of all that not too far down the road.

Stay tuned.

Well, i guess i could post future plans for her. First off, i need to get her running. I have the parts to do so if it's what i think it is, which is battery, starter and new cables. That's easy. Then i just need to change the oil and hopefully she'll drive for a while.

Secondly, i'll be replacing the driver and passenger floors. You can see in a couple pics that they're all rusted out. I may just epoxy them though to seal it and then sand and prime.

Third will be priming the whole thing. I'll leave it primer for now as i haven't decided colors yet. A very large portion of it though (probably a foot up from the bottom on all sides or higher... possibly up to w/in a couple inches of the window) will be coated with rhinoliner.

4th will be to get my suspension all figured out. I have a pair of Dana 44 axles waiting to be rebuilt. I have one side of the front axle torn down and ran out of funding to do the rebuild. I would like to put 4.10 gears in them though as well as detroit lockers. There will be a very large portion of my money spent on the suspension. I have a 4 link with coil springs planned for it right now, but again, this is down the road and not in the near future. I'd like to run 33 x 13.5's.

The 5th planned modification is to swap a diesel into it. I've thought about putting a 6.9l Powerstroke into it but it may end up being a I5 Mercedes diesel that i'll turbo charge. I'm undecided about that part right now.

Just some primering. It looks better without the top though imo, so i'll be trying to find a bikini top for it.

Notice the fuel tank in one of the pics, that came out of the passenger side fenderwell. I'm going to get a single 20 gal fuel cell to replace it and the other one on the drivers side.

The passenger floor board wasn't as bad as i thought it would be, took a lot of sanding to get rid of the rust though. I'm gonna be moving on to the drivers side soon. The fenders and hood are gonna go to sandblast (walnut shell blast) for paint stripping. If i can figure out how to get the rear fenders off i'll send them out there too. Roll cage is in the future as well, and i think for now i'll be sticking with the OE motor if i can get it running.

I figured out it's got a T98 tranny and D20 transfer case which are both good. The seals are leaking profusely though, so they'll need to be rebuilt more than likely.

There's the most recent updates though. I'll try to get more as more good stuff happens. I've just been really busy though so i don't know when i'll get more time to work on it.

I miss my scout. I had a 65 Scout. Red body w/ Black top. Big bad slant 4 cyl. But, nonetheless, that damn thing would go most places other 4wd would not touch.
