Well, I was thinking that seems how the gas prices around where I live have gotten to about $3.95, maybe we should have a thread on fuel efficiency and how to help those of us willing to mod our cars to save on gas. One of the easiest ways I've been told (Which isn't really a mod) is to make sure your tires are properly filled, though I'm sure most already know this.

Anyone else have any gas saver mods?

Fill early in the morning, use pumps slowest setting, and make sure you go before tanker gets there.

Oh? I've always wondered if there was a way to get more gas for your money at the pump...

Actually these easiest way to getter be MPG is to change your driving style, don't let the car idle, avoid stop and go traffic, speeding, and quick acceleration.

Cheap mods could include a HAI, grill block, skinny tires, underbody pan/covering.

Mods That seam most effective, based on my car, are as follows (Not necessarily in this order):
Mechtech's MAF Mod
Kemen Air filter housing mod
installing grill mesh in front bumper
ATX shift kit (for those with automatic transmissions)
JBA short header
larger exhaust piping with a hi flow muffler (2.25" for ATX, 2.5" for manual)

I agree. Tank before last I got about 27 mpg. I knew I could do better. By just changing my driving style, I got 41 mpg on the next tank. I didn't even check the air pressure in my tires. For me it was hard work to change my habits.

I accelerated gently and stopped gently. One small change was not starting the car until I was all buckled in. I used to get in, start the car, adjust the seat, adjust the mirrors, set the radio, buckle up, then go. Now, I do all those things, then start the car and go. That gives my less time idling. Here in Texas, there is no need to let the car sit to warm up. It will warm up as I gently drive, keeping the rpms under 2500.

The number ONE PROVEN MOST effective way to increase fuel milage is ALSO the CHEAPEST..... the right foot mod.. Your throttle control and usage is the nubmer one factor in poor or better than average mpg.. I can get form LOW 20's to low 40's going the SAME way SAME time everything.. only changing my driving style (below are not in order)

1) Always check your air pressure if possible a higher psi will help
2) GOod PLugs ( I like motorcraft )
3) Air filter (K&n is good but be LIGHT on the oil to prevent maf contamination)
4) Replace fuel filter
5) OFTEN OVERLOOKED... Alignments.. make SURE its GOOD..
6) run a skinnier tire if possible... instead of a 215 or a 205 runa 195 or 185 withthe appropriate apect ratio..
7) a good sct tune will help
8 ) good 2.25 or 2.5 exhaust will help.
9) Header
10) UDP
11) often overlooked.. check ALL vac lines and fittings. i
12) upstream o2 sensor.. eve if its not throwing a code... you CAN clean them (some use a torch to burn off deposits).. but its not a good fix. i DONT recomend cleaning.
13) check your brakes.. it sounds dumb but dragging brakes( EVEN SLIGHTLY DRAGGING) can rob you of fuel milage
14) remove your rear spoiler.. ( mm&ff did a test and it showed almost a 2 mpg increase on the sn95 body mustangs)
15)CAI (keman or a aftermarket) NOT a short ram..
16) use a slightly lower viscosity oil IE: 5w20 rather than a 10w40
17) good mtf fluid..
18 ) you can run underbody panels grill blockers wheel covers etc but those are EXTREEM
19) dont use ac
20) Clean you T/B
21) MOST of these are cheap or free but some cost a bit more.. anyone have any feel free to add
