Just saw a screener at the theater and I recommend everybody see it.
Probably going to see it again next week or something with the same people and more. Totally worth the $9 at the local theater to see it again. Best movie in a while and they leave you hanging at the end... possible 2nd one? (District 10)

Not even on TV? I don't even watch TV much and I saw probably 3 different previews for it over the past few months and then in the theater I saw one like a month ago.

probably a stupid question, but how do you get to see a screener at the theater?

One of my dads coworkers brought tickets in to work, apparently the guy has a second part time job at Blockbuster. One of the local Rock radio stations were giving away tickets as well and then 2 other stations gave away a few.

not that I can remember. And I've actually been to the movies every weekend for the last 2 months.
Then again, a few of them the wife made us late to, so we didn't get to see the previews...

Damn good movie. I loved it. And I usually see my advance movies because I know everyone at the local theater. :P
I was hanging out with my friend who was a manager one night, we got bored at like 4:30AM so he just drove us to the theater, unlocked the doors and started up a movie. It was awesome. Lol

Definitely an interesting flick. Enjoyed it, and how it was shot. It was different, and entertaining. Looking forward to the sequel (if one is made... hopefully lol)

movie had a lot of great reviews so i went and saw it. i was ready to walk out at half an hour into it. we were only five minutes late and were completely clueless for the first hour of the movie which only made things worse. however, i stuck it out till the end and it did get much better and interesting. def not the greatest movie of the summer, but it was, well, i can't say original, but it's definitely not your typical alien movie. i might even consider buying it when it comes out. it's definitely a love/hate thing. i give it a 6/10 for originality and storyline. they did the best they could with no namers. the graphics were great and by the end i was actually watching the damn movie.
i did agree with some of the negative review that this seemed to be more of a drama than sci fi action though. there def could have been some more fight scenes, but the ones that were present were great. someone said the movie was 80% story and 20% action which is a pretty close estimate. it just sucks that the story doesn't become apparent till the movie's pretty much over, but that could also be our fault for showing up late. it was rather frustrating sitting there for an hour with the biggest wtf look on our faces since the movie doesn't back up and explain things so we really should've caught it from the beginning. i'd be willing to see it again, but def not in the theater. give it a try if you want a break from the cheesy slasher films and nutsack comedies, and if you're a big fan of E.T.

I saw it last night, was a decent movie. I was wanting more "drama" or interaction between him and his supposed friend was very dry in development imo.
All in all it was alright, it was an unexpected, new movie to me unlike the rest of the movies this year. I actually liked the fact that it was kept down to earth literally in the fact that the creatures were not displayed as holier than thou. Though I didn't care for them being played off as somewhat cowering fools. It did feel very lifelike, and the way it was made just put that overboard for me, kept me from getting into the movie like I usually do.

If anybody torrents stuff, there was a rough DVD release with full menus leaked... already downloaded and burned it, its almost perfect DVD quality as far as non-hd.

Where was the origin of that movie, who actually made it, what South Africa? It was kind of a bazar statement on man's/governments inability to deal with the larger problems it's confronted with. Hurricane Katrina also comes to mind. Either from the ineptitude of help people recieved during/after the disaster, or the lack of wisdom the government shows when it allows/then continues to allow people to inhabit questionable locations like that!
I mean don't get me wrong, you should be able to live where you want to live, but don't tax my money when someone's house get blown off the beach, or burned up by an active volcano...I say AMF-YO-YO to that shit. What about when the Media "demonized" the lead character, God help you when the media decides to trash you huh!
