Hardly a fun project, I think. Cracked firewall and the front end isn't straight at all. Getting that pulled straight this summer then I gotta find a tranny for it. Need to decide if I am swapping to an mtx or staying autotragic. Then I need a top and windows. A lot of other crap. Haha, it is going to suck.

Projects are awesome, when they run already or need no body work.

It's got a 302 in it atm. C-4 auto with standard gearing pegleg out back. It's not drivable atm, need to fix the brakes.

Once I get a home though, I'll be tearing it down and getting the body work done. I look forward to being able to drive that car around on the weekends.

'88GT, all stock. super high gears make it great on the highway, my wifes ride.
'67 Coupe, 351W with all the goodies. Nodular 9" rear, toploader 4 speed and everything I need to run 10's, cept the cage,.....but haven't yet :) It's a story as old as time. Boy buys super sweet hot rod in high school. Boy dumps every penny he has into in college (not much), boy gets good job, meets super hot chick, gets married, has kids, a fixer upper house, a farm, a high pressure job....wait sec. What happend to the sweet ride. I think I saw it in the barn a couple years ago, sigh.... At least I can pretend the ZX2 is fast :D 13's are slow for a mustang, fast for a ZX2. Completely different scale of fast. But I get great milage in the Z.

I have 98 cobra 1of 587 made in white vert. , It go 78016 miles , for the mods start at a d&d k-member , d&d coil overs front & rear , Tubular a-arms , solid rear , stock for 98s , subframe bars , and 4:10s I get to go get next week, for the engine stock long block, with a gt35r , tial wastegate , hks bov 1 7/8 manifolds in to a 2.5 mide pipe up to the turbo 3" down pipe full 3inch interooler piping with huge front mount, and it 2 250 walbrao in line fuel pumps with 60lb injectors , and a full 3 inch exhaust. yet to dyno

my 86 svo with the 2.3 turbo delete mod lol. fully built 306, the mod list hits the floor so ill just post pics. runs 11,s on 93 octane. mid 10's on race gas......... for now. :D

I love those SVO's I used to hate the front ends but they grow on you.. my uncle owns/ restores fox body stangs so i have been around stangs my whole life he has prolly 20-25 stangs currently 10-15 of the being part cars rangeing from 79-93 he has a 85 and 1/2 svo black in mint condition completly stock, a 1992 coupe race car stock bottom end hit 12.3 last year up in BIR, has a 1993 gt convert auto, a 82 hatch fully restored that he has had for 12 years(since he was 16), an 1979 official pace car in the process of being restored (silver with the horses and pin striping on the side) should be done this summer and to top it all of he has a mint condition 1993 black cobra with about 20,000 on it this is just a few of his cars maybe i can get some pics next time i go up there.. I know these arnt mine but i though i would just post cause i love stangs along with zx2's. He is always telling me to sell my integra and buy a stang.. but i have owned a 1991 4cly hatchback a 1990 4cyl converted to carburated 5.0 hatchback. a 1992 convert lx and a 1989 mustang gt hatchback.. I sold all of them before I moved to IL then regreted it later on.. I would love to buy another one soon but with the kids and shittie gas prices might not be possible till later..lol

forgot to mention he also ownes a saleen i believe its a 1989

oh yeah i also had a 1987 turbo coupe silver its not a stang but its still a very nice car..

I have a 95 Cobra, one of the last ones made with the big ol 5.0. it doesnt have much just a bbk cai, 42# injectors, 250lph fuel pump, msd ignition, and full hotchkis suspension on all 4 corners with coilovers. Not too many other goodies other than stock svt parts. oh yeah cars birthday is 11/11/95 so she is one of the last :-)

and some nice billet underhood show parts
a 6T6 ram air hood and front spoiler along with the easylift shocks (no more prop rod for me!!!).

it has less than 18000 miles on it and i am gonna have to sell it. Im so sad but i have a baby on the way so as in most cases like mine the mustang is the first to go. fortunatly i have held onto the Z which only has 50000 miles on it (I just hit 50000 acctually). So atleast i have somthing that is fun.

Well i am on my 4th

04 mustang gt 40th anniversary edition.....5 speed, redfire metallic paint, mgw shifter, e-bay intake (on car when I bought it) flowmaster exhaust....I have a list of mods for it to do over winter, and in a few weeks the stereo will be upgraded with a pioneer cd/dvd/mp3 player with a 6.1" screen, punch sub, alpine v-12 amp, all to compliment the already nice mach 460 sound system...

the previous ones were a 91 saleen sc convertible, a 93 gt vert (one of 220 in that olor scheme) and an 88 gt hatchback

hmm. i just got rid of my father's 74 mustang II. thing had the 2.8L engine with the 4-speed transmission. talk about a project. ugh. i'm glad that piece is gone.


i own a 2001 svt mustang cobra. original owner, about 70k miles. it's got some mods. best time at the strip was 13.3 when it was bone stock. it's also been autocrossed and seen a couple of road course track days. :)

The 289 was swapped for a 302 long before I bought it. Its in pretty decent shape body wise. I bought one that needed more mechanical work, since that's what im good at lol. It's got the normal mustang rust though. So pleanty of work to do body wise.

i hear you. i sort of inherited mine. since it's been garaged for half of its life, the rust isn't too bad. had to replace a section of the passenger floor pan a few years ago and i might have to do the same on the driver's side, but other than that, the rest of the car isn't too bad. i'll have to replace some sheet metal and get a couple of small holes welded up in the dash, then it's off to paint. :)

been thinking of taking a welding class or two, so i can do that stuff myself.

Yeah, if I had time i'd take the autobody class I took in hs again. But I don't. So I'll end up paying between 3-5k for the bodywork to be done right. then another 3k+ for the paint.

I haven't decided what color im going with for the interior... it's either black and white with black carpet and trim panels, or dark blue and white with matching blue panels and black carpet. haven't decided if im just going to seal the engine compartment or match it to the body. I'll be using all new wiring and an autometer dash.

Shelby hood, and im not sure if im gonna use the elenore tails, or just get LED tails that look stock for '66.

Lots of decisions, but need a home to rip her apart @ first.

I recently purchased a 2008 GT with the FRPP/Shelby suspension. I'll be adding the hurst shifter and Steeda CAI, and UDPs soon. Then maybe an X-pipe and shorty, equal length headers. I'm trying to keep it SCCA STX legal.

2008 GT with the FRPP/Shelby suspension. Not only does the suspension make it handle a lot better than any mustang I've ever driven, it changes the stance and makes it look better.

a buddie of mine has a 96 cobra twin turbo that he made from scratch, thing is sick.. he smokes 600cc bikes.. best part is he left the whole exterior looking stock :)

wont pass emissions? what is it failing on?

I might be able to coe up with a new harness for it....well slightly used....

We got most of it down now, replaced 02 sensor and new fuel injectors and cleaned entire system out. Running better now but still rough.

No codes and hes gonna take it to emissions tomorrow.

i know shut up eric. its timing is off and i am just too lazy to fix it right now. Even tho gas prices dropped alot and i said that if it ever dropped below $3 a gallon for premium that i would get it back on the road

The difference between the 99/01 Cobra and the 03/04 Mach is like a Honda Civic and a Ford ZX2. The Cobra spits out more peak hp (320 at 6k, or 317 ft-lbs at 4700), while the Mach was built more midrange (305hp at 6k or 320 ft-lbs at 4200).

There really isn't a whole lot of difference between the 99/01 and the 03-04 Mach. The Mach's have better flowing heads and midrange cams, while the 99-01 have more aggressive cams. All of the 99/01 Cobras have forged cranks, while only the 5 speed Machs have forged cranks. They share the same block, rods and pistons. The Cobra has a slightly lower compression ratio.

Idk the 4.6 is a great engine. But my 5.0 is good too, they should just make some more parts for the SN-95 body style.

The 99/01 cobras have powered rods. and the mach 1 and termy 4v's have forged rods. i swear. lol

friends 01 Cobra: 265hp 270tq
me: 269hp 295tq

01 Cobra - intake, pulleys, xpipe, catback, tune - 290hp 300tq
me - intake, x-pipe, intake spacer, catback, tune - 300hp/330tq (if you wanna get picky a 4.10 but, supposedly gears make you dyno LOWER)

the Mach1 was under rated. :)

And as for compression Ford has 3 different compressions listed for the 4v 4.6, 9.8/10/10.1 the ALuminator IS a Mach1 motor, still says 10.0:1 comp. So I'm not so sure there is a comp difference in the 99-04 4v.

same dyno, same day. my other friends 99 (didnt mention due to not being sure what intake mani he has) did 5hp/tq less then the 01 on average. The 4v LOVES to breath, I went from 45lbs/s (K&N intake, exhasut) to 68lbs/s(JLT intake, same exhaust, TB, 90MM MAF) and still restricking it with stock headers. The pulleys REALLY make the car want to rev more. I've got a friend of mine spec'ing custom cams right now. Hoping to do them, intake mani, LT's and a retune at once. Go in with 304hp, come out with 350-360.
