View Full Version : Going to Vegas, what to check ??
Ok so im going to go to L.V. next week, its a 5 -6 hr trip, i change the oil aprox 1.5 k miles ago, new front tires 3 months ago, rear tires changed jan 07, no oil leaks other than the valve cover, no problems with water leaks or antifreze.
Ive never had any mayor mechanical problems with the car, but what should i check or do, before the trip.
Thanks

coolant. Vegas is seriously the hottest place I've ever been...
Just do general "before a road trip" things-
check all the fluids, check all the tires, check all your lights, make sure there's air in your spare, make sure you have the tools to change to your spare, do a visual check of the entire car

If you have NEVER checked it...check the tire pressure in the spare. You might have an unpleasant suprise if you do have a flat.

Everything.
Keep up with all fluids and components on a regular basis. Bettery water, brake fluid, PS fluid, trans fluid [anual or auto].
How's your AC? You may need to squirt in some sauce.
Check your toe in [alignment]. This eats tires and gas, if it is off. You can do this will common sense and a tape measure, or a dozen other means.
