2000 ZX2-169,700 miles, ATX went out 5 days after purchase. Rebuild did not fix trans.....must have been a bad housing or something. Put an ATX out of a 4-door 99 Escort in it, sort of fit....now it runs. Only twenty more things to fix....

Seems to do okay......got up to a hundred pretty quick on the freeway, then I realized that I really don't need another ticket since I drive for a living and cut it short.

Shifts pretty hard into second if i'm not nice to the throttle. Is that normal or due to being rebuilt????

Wheels are wheels. As long as it gets from point A to point B.

I had an auto 4 door scort that I put 30,000 miles on and it always shifted hard into 2nd

Hear that. After sharing the Exploder with my wife for the last month or so I am exstatic to have this bastard running.

After I get all the repair issues dealt with I'm thinking maybe cold air intake, limo tint, black rims (it's a white car), and maybe a spoiler off of an SRT Neon if I can find a white one and make it fit (I think something in that size would help balance the pregnant roller skate look of the ZX2 without making it look like I am trying to lift off......). I got some blackout lens covers off ebay the other day. Still waiting for them but should be here shortly.......

Glad to hear you got your zx2 running. Thats normal with the hard shifting... I have a white Z with black rims. Us white ZX2's seem to stick together! Oh and don't do the srt4 spoiler.

Why not? The little stock one doesn't flatter the shape of the vehicle IMO. Looks like a little bubble...something to fill in the ass end would make it more streamlined I think.
