quick question:

i've got some money put aside for a little "fun" modification.

would like to do an ECU chip modification, or more specifically get a flashpak or sort of computer to control settings on the fly. it seems reasonable that a 2.0 4 cylinder that only runs at 130 horsepower has some untapped power due to factory setup.

HOW much extra power can i get from this reconfiguration alone? and what are reputable sites/companies that sell chips for the ZETEC engine family??

have already done some research, need specific numbers.

I don't think anything like that is available for you.

What about that one multi-tune chip with the toggle switch someone was selling on here a week or so ago?

Not pots.

NGP0 isn't worth it.

SCT. 5-12 whp. Depends on wether it is a base tune, a vit tune(which you won't get), or a dyno tune.

A vit tune will cost you: your first-born child, your left nut, and 1 m-e-e-e-e-e-llion dollars. That is all.

What's wrong with Sniper?

Ask everyone who's blown their engine.

Just use SCT.

REALLY!?! That's interesting!

I have Sniper right now being used on my Lightning because I'm tired of the limitations Diablo had. Since I have another bullet to waste, I'm probably going to use it for the ZX2. Shame it has a bad rep with you guys.

I'm not FI so I don't think engine blowing will happen. I just want the mileage!

I think that the software and everything is probably decent, but the people with all of the experience tuning zetecs use SCT.

Its probably the tuners more than the product.

I'll agree. I'd get a wideband first. I think that is where a lot of the engine problems come into play at.

Agree with lilzx2 If you're FI and DON'T have a wideband, you're asking for trouble if self tuning. Lord knows the L does.

I would want one with an N/A engine as well. I mean if you start adding timing, hot cams, and generally any other major mod, it'd be necessary for proper tuning.

Most people don't tune their own cars, but if you are then a wideband is a must, period. You will never do as good without one as you will with.
