Does anyone know if this will work on our cars? It's been asked in the threads on FEOA and hasn't really been answered..

Also, would this adversely affect an aftermarket security system at all, specifically the door pin/dome light connections?

you can disconnect the connector behind the fusebox. the door chime will go off but the interior dome light wont work when door is open (it will still work if you turn it on manually tho)

I was kind of hoping not to go that route.

When the engine isn't running, you an pull the key part way out. It cancels the chime.
