Alright well since CJW fails at sites (lol jk) I will update my workout/weight loss thread.
Basically, I'm rockin' out with my cock out. No joke. I started at 197, and today I weighed in at 189.6. :D I started Weight Watchers again last Monday, so it hasn't even been 2 weeks and already almost 8 lbs, with working out. I am actually really happy. It's crazy.
I have another question:
I drink...about 6 bottles of water a day. It isn't possible to like over hydrate is it? My shit lately has been like massive but when I wipe, nothing on the TP, like there is a force field of water on it. LOL
Any help? Thanks guys.
Still doing 100 crunches a night btw, which isn't a ton but it's better then nothing.

Are you doing a no carb thing? What is it called, Kanosis?
ZX2guy19
04-17-2008, 10:00 PM
Nope, I eat a banana for breakfast with two bottles of water, a 300 calorie lunch with 2 bottles of water, and about a 450 calorie dinner with 2 bottles of water. I eat tons of carbs, I just don't eat as much.

04-17-2008, 10:02 PM
Oh okay. Going into Katosis while working out will effectivly cause you to lose 10lb in a week around 20lb in a month. You starve your body of carbs, starts consuming body fat. You will notice the loss in your face, arms, legs first...then eventually your body. You will be hungry all the time though. You can eat a ton of food and it is smart to take vitamins. Just no carbs.

I did that, and the second I ate one noodle I gained all 40 lbs back. It took me almost 2 years to gain back the 40 lbs I lost from weight watchers. It really is the best diet.

That is true...Once you go off it you gain it back. Well if this is working for you congradulations. I just love food so I would have a hard time if I ever had to start dieting.

Sounds like you are having great success. Congratulations!
I've never heard of a maximum amount of water that one should consume daily. The reccommended 6-8 servings (8 fl. oz. each) per day is what I try to maintain.
Personally, I don't think I would make it through the day with such a low calorie intake. lol.

You can OD on water. No joke. It's like a high because it wipes you out. All your energy is gone. It's dangerous. You cant OD on 6 bottles though. I drink about a gallon a day. Beats the hell out of pop and it saves on the calories.

it will definietly pay off...even if you just lose a little. the most you lose, the better payoff you'll have. you'll have a longer, happier life...and it'll be easier to get chicks.

This is where your view is all wrong. Weight watchers is not a diet, it's a lifestyle change. The weight will always come back if you don't stick to the new lifestyle. Once you get to your goal and figure out how much you should be eating (and exercising) to maintain then that's what you need to do for life (or until your body changes it's metabolism, etc.). Of course you can still splurge and do those other things, but you need to get back on plan to maintain that weight goal.
But I agree, Weight Watchers is the best plan! I lost 60lbs before I got pregnant and I've lost 11.6 in the last month since I joined again. About 25 lbs. left for me to get to goal. The only time I've gained in the last year and a half is when I had to stop to have a baby, lol.

Congrats Brad!
I'm still hovering around 230 lbs from starting at 244.5 back 3 months ago. I weigh myself in the morning and I was 228.5 yesterday, today I am 230.5 which I expected because of how much I ate last night LOL.
My weight loss has been from just eating closer to recomended portions and cutting back on soda. I used to get refils at resturaunts, now I stretch out 1 glass of soda. At fast food places I drink maby 1/2 the soda and trash the rest. When at home, I'm always drinking water and once in a while apple juice or skim milk.
I'll loose it all today tho. I'll be on the treadmill later.

yea im not really much of a cardio kinda guy, me working out is going to go lift wieghts. the closest i get to cardio is when i have football practice here at college.
the funny thing is as a incomming freshman into high school i was just barely 200 and now as a freshman in college i weigh 285
so in 5 years i gained 85 lbs, is that alot?

I'm 6'3" and was 255# as of yesterday morning. I have about 55# to go and I'm sure I'll look pretty anorexic at 200# lol. So we'll see where I'm @ when I'm about 215-220.

I'm around 6'2" and online stuff says 185 is the weight most people this height want, then you go from there based on what you do.

Seems stupid, but I can finally go back to the gym now... I got my iPod. I don't like most of the music they play over the speakers, nor the fact that when they have an announcement (pretty often) it interrupts the songs.
So now I look forward to forcing the habit back into shape and starting up on Monday. The nice thing is, besides the excess baggage, I'm actually in great physical health. I just had blood work done was well as an echocardiagram and chest xrays. (my family wanted me to get checked out for something specific)

There were a few instances where people overhydrated and died. A bike racer incident was a famous recent one.
The instantaneous lowering of salts/minerals in the blood did it.
It's good to drink a lot of water and flush things and keep hydrated, but under severe circumstances you can overwhelm your body's design and function.
I used to force drink to prevent dehydration, but overdid it one day and almost passed out. It was not from a LACK of water, because I was pounding it down all day.

what about gatorade, i know its bad for u if u dont do activity but isnt it good once and a while in small doses bc it has more in it than water

Yes it is actually
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_intoxication
If by 6 bottles you mean those 591ml ones, you're perfect. If they're 1L or more, it may be a bit too much - but not nearly enough for water poisoning.
Congrats on shedding those pounds, I bet it's a great feeling to see the results of your effort!

It has calories and electrolytes to stave off dehydration. If for example you had a hard night of drinking and puked your guts out, then passed out, it would be smarter to drink gatorade rather than water the next morning. Water is in general devoid of any vitamins or minerals (depending on your source), and just plain water wont have you feeling well again.
Regardless, if you want to lose weight, you might think of only drinking gatorade before or after exercising, and not a full bottle at either time.

Well I gained about 2 lbs this weekend. I had a really active weekend with friends and we just chilled and such but that led to no exercise and unhealthy food. No biggie, tomorrow starts another week.
I drink...about 6 bottles of water a day. It isn't possible to like over hydrate is it? My shit lately has been like massive but when I wipe, nothing on the TP, like there is a force field of water on it. LOL
Yes, you can actually overhydrate. I found this out the hard way. Was drinking over 2 gallons of water a day, and it made me go to the bathroom so often, that I was actually de-hydrating myself.... I know it sounds weird, lol. You should be drinking about a gallon of water a day. A little more if you are SUPER active, but thats about right. Another thing too, try and drink your water as COLD as possible. The colder the water, the more it takes your system to process it, in effect, burning more calories. It's not a lot, but every little bit helps!!
