1.20 CDN / liter * 3.79 liter / gallon = 4.55 CDN / gallon
1.00 CDN = $1.0034
So he's paying about $4.56 / gallon

I normally pay around $3.909 to $3.999 in CT but yesterday I paid $3.739 in MA

me and a few people that i hang out at woodward with were interviewed about gas prices on friday. they asked how we felt and what we would do if prices went up to 7 or 10/gallon. one guy said that our cars are our passion and we would make other sacrifices to keep enjoying them. the interviewer asked another guy how many mpgs he got. when he replied with 11, she asked if he used premium, he says 'yes, i shoot nitrous, i dont want it to detonate.' she then got a confused look on her face and asked what he would do if prices went up to 10/gal, he replied with, '135.' me=amused. its true though, i dont plan on giving up my passion, regardless of how high gas prices get.

Gas is $4.159 and diesel $4.659 at the station in Michigan where I get mine. I use diesel. It is a Marathon and I buy with a gift card. The gift card costs $48 to put $50 on it or $96 for $100 so a 4% discount. I pay for the gift card with a credit card that gives 1.5% back. I have been meaning to get their credit card which gives 10% back for the first 6 months on purchases at Marathon. Then it would cost me $86.40 for $10 in fuel by buying gift cards with that credit card. I'll buy extra gift cards just before the 6 months is up.

Im not gonna bitch about it going back up as long as it stays around or below $2.00

LunchBoxZX2

It was $1.77 by me a couple days ago... $1.99 now.

There is a pretty decent sized conflict going on in Israel right now which is pushing the price of oil and gas higher due to a fear of supply disruption.

Yeah...especially since nearly all of the oil the US uses comes from this side of the globe lol.

Really? Most of our oil comes from the Middle East... honestly

Ok, it may not be mostly, but it is definitely not mostly from North or South or Central America.

Oh, and $1.949 here for regular, and I think it was $2.139 for premium.

dmark101

well, with crude getting up to $50 and then back down to nearly $42 the past few days, i've seen the prices locally jump anywhere from .15 to .30 cents across the board as a knee-jerk reaction.

cheapest i saw yesterday was $1.75 for 87 at an arco; at a chevron, it was $1.85.

Jesusfrk611

I think the lowest it got around here was $1.42. Right now it's about $1.69 last I saw.

Just wait for it. Its going to go back up this summer. Winter time...people don't use as much gas..always raises in the summer.

It got all the way down to $1.34 or so and is now at $1.66.

ZX2guy19

It hit $1.42 here but a place here gives .05 off if you pay with cash, so technically it was $1.37 at it's lowest point

$1.99 is still better than $3.99

That makes sense about the conflict over there. I was just curious why it was going back up, but I'm not complaining in the least about it!

paid 1.13 in new mexico the day after Christmas, paid 1.56 today in Texas

J_Mob
01-08-2009, 06:08 PM
Yeah I read it. And percentage wise most of our oil comes from this side of the globe lol.....like I said. Number one supplier is Canada, 3 is Mexico, 4 is Venezuela.....I think those add up to more then what is supposedly coming from Saudi Arabia (I question that number 2 spot sorry) and Iraq and Nigeria together roughly equal what we get from Mexico.

But yeah, looks like 70-75% of our oil comes from this side of the sphere. I did think it was higher, but hell-the argument still holds merit.

J_Mob
01-08-2009, 06:13 PM
Okay this thing is saying 50% this side, 40% other hemisphere, and 10% small time or unknown. whatever lol......http://www.gravmag.com/imports.shtml

I don't get why the damn Democrats won't let us drill for our own oil so we can end the dependence on foreign oil...........

J_Mob

They are drilling all over Colorado. Plus they got the ok for some of the wildlife/open spce areas....a lot of it is natural gas but there is a fair amount of oil. It took them a while to figure out how to get it out of the shale....now I don't know what the deal is. Southern Co is getting "immenant domained" all over the place from what I hear.

Well drill in ANWR and off the coasts.

Its mostly natural gas, same thing happened in Texas. When I say mostly I mean prolly 99%.

1.99 this morning by me for 87. Diesel is still at 2.29. So the ZX2 is parked and driving the Jetta with 1/3 better mileage.

Poop. Up to $1.699.

Why is it going up if oil is currently DOWN to $39/bbl? HUH? Bullshit is what it is.

If global warming is going to own the planet... why in the world did the Willamette Valley in Oregon get owned by snow for almost 2 weeks in December... and we usually get snow once every 5 years.... (oh, maybe a half inch or so...). Instead we've had snow for like 3 years in a row? Please... global warming my ass.

Global warming supposedly causes greater extremes in temperatures, not just higher temps across the board. I'm not coming to the defense of any arguments, just stating what I've read.

It snowed in Hawaii too...

I'm not trying to backup global warming, because I don't believe it's happening, but the last couple of years we have had some of the hottest summers in Texas. The Winter is always weird though. Just yesterday it was probably in the high 70's and now it's cold and windy... But we did get snow for the first time in 2 years this year.
