View Full Version : wiring harness necessary for new speakers?

Hey all,

Okay, really stupid question so please just bear with me....

Alright, so I just got a set of Blaupunkt gtx652's off of ebay (is that risky if it's supposedly new and from a reputable person?), and it didn't come with a wiring harness....so would I need a new wiring harness to install the speakers? Or can I just cut off the harness connecting to the original speakers and just twist the new speaker wires around those? That seems to make sense to me but I just don't want to screw things up if I'm wrong.

Thanks a bunch,

Matt

cut connectors off but leave enough room so if you wanna put them back on...and solder the joints

Never cut a factory wire unless you have too. There is nothing wrong with stripping some of the insulation away and soldering a new wire there to use. See my how-to for installing Remote Starters for an example.

you should put links to your how-to's in your signature... I always find this to be most helpful :)
