My New Beater

Instead of putting my Summer work money into the ZX2, I decided to buy another car to drive around (loaned the money from my grandmother, she gives good interest rates). I've always wanted a 240SX and I couldn't pass up the opportunity.

NOTE: I will be cleaning the engine bay tomorrow and taking all the wire loom crap out then. And I already to the huge tach out, luckily I know how to read the stock one just fine.

The ZX2 is my first car, and I want to take care of it. It has right at 80k miles and this will give me something else to daily. That and my ZX2 is sooo much nicer than this, and will be for a long time.

my brother has had two of these, and i know all about the potential of a 240. one of his has an sr20det and was stupid fast (aka c6 corvettes were getting pissed at us). unfortunately the oil line to the turbo leaked really bad and starved the motor of oil and led to knocking. the 240 will be modded and taken care of, but for right now it will mostly stay like it is because i can't afford to do a lot right now.

it is faster than the zx2 like it sits, but that's not saying much. . .

Buddy had the same looking one. He ran 10's with it. Then again he has bought and sold 6 240sx's. Agreed nice winter beater..i keep my z in storage at all times too ;). A car is only worth as much as you want it to be. The z has always been my favorite cars I have driven..I have driven a crap load of cars.

The SR20DET is not a powerful engine stock, it's smarter to mod your KA for turbo, it already has 8:1 CR and parts are super cheap.

it's an SE without the HICAS or VLSD. however the guy who sold it to me said the VLSD was added so i will be testing it at some point. NO rust on the outside, a little bit around the spare tire, but it's surface rust only.

i know more about Nissans than i know about my ZX2. the KA and SR both have their strong points. but i think you're going out on a limb saying the SR is not powerful stock. the stock internals can hold alot more boost than a stock KA.

i mean its all on you
if you get a SR20 you can at least daily drive it at low boost.
if you make a KA monster its not a 100% guarantee that its a DD.
for each their own.
i would experience the KA 1st then go SR or maybe RB :)

I have a 240 before... nice car, first rwd car I owned too.

That car has a lot of potential, I got mine and made the zx2 a daily before I sold it to some punk kid in Indiana.

Great find! I wish I had$750 theresone like that around here. Its pretty much a shell but absolutly emaculant conditio. But the motor was fubar and i aint got no where to store it.
