We will be driving up to Fontana Damn where we will take a rest and breathe in some fresh air and then start the cruise back down. The cruise will be at everyone’s own pace and all are encouraged to please take it slow and be safe while driving.

We encourage everyone to participate. Bring along your family for a fun day of cruising and beautiful scenery. Please bring your own snacks or lunch for this cruise as there’s not many places to get any personal “needs” items either. (We will be in the beautiful Smokey Mountains)

After the cruise of the “Dragon”, (for those who wish to continue the day) we will travel along beautiful Foothills Parkway to the Townsend/Wears Valley area and then on up to the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area where we will meet at a soon to be determined restaurant for a good bite to eat and some friendly conversation. Come make this a mini-vacation for you or your family and join us. Lodging (for those wishing to stay the night in beautiful E. TN) is available in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area and is solely your responsibility to reserve your room or cabin for the night. I would really like to have an outstanding showing of the Southeast members but I strongly encourage anyone with in a general 8hr drive to try to make this event. Anyone who lives farther away and wishes to come join the fun, contact me and I can help make any arraingments that may be needed.

This is the contact info for them if anyone else is interested in getting a cabin. The Rates are reasonable but remember, this isn't a hotel, it's a fully furnished cabin. My rate is $115 per day/night. I've rented mine from August the 8th through the 11th, Fri-Mon. This is our aniversary weekend, so we would apreciate not having anyone without a place to stay for the night, think they can crash at the cabin.

I highly suggest those people whom are staying the night get their shit in gear and figure out what your doing. You should be able to rent a hotel room once you arrive but calling/reserving ahead of time is always the best thing to do.

EVERYONE, MAKE SURE YOUR TANK IS FULL BEFORE GETTING TO WAL-MART AND THAT ALL ITEMS FOR THE TRIP ARE PURCHASED. THIS HELPS TO KEEP THE SCHEDULE AND HELPS TO ELIMINATE ANYONE GETTING LOST.



Leave to start the cruise around 9:30. Should be going through the dragon by 10:30 at the latest and arriving at Fontana damn by 12:00pm

Lunch if you brought some,rest, take pictures, whatever.

Around 1:30pm at the latest start the cruise back down.

By around 3:00 we should be on Foothills parkway heading twards Wears Valley.

From Wears Valley we should arrive in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg by around 5pm or so.

After that, depending on who ever stays that long, we can all eat, ride go-carts, send the ladies shopping while we get shit faced. :beernana: For those who have cabins (including myself) if there are a few people left from the cruise, We could stop off at the store get some dogs and burgers and grill out at one of the cabins. (If it is my cabin, you will not get shitfaced and expect to stay the night. You can however stay the night in your car. I don't care.:p)

No stipulations really. I'd like for them to join Teamzx2 or at least make an account here so they can post in this thread. This is the thread that will be updated, so if they don't check out the link often, news could pass them by. I'd also guess if they made the effort to make an account and post here, they would actually plan on making it....I don't need a bounch of people saying they'll be there and not show up. Trying to get a restaurant for 50+ people along with parking is damn near impossible. I'd like to keep a realistic # of how many are really willing to come have a good time and enjoy some beautiful scenery. If you want to keep up with the FEOA side of things, be my guest. Just send me the link you put on FEOA so I can gauge interest. If interest is good, I might make an account on FEOA just to keep the peeps informed myself...Hope that all makes sense.

Big Ed's is about 1 minute from my house. Two totally different pizza joints owned by two different people. My dad went to school with "Big Ed" Seniors' son. Big Ed Sr. died about 10 years ago and his son took it over. The taste and the atmoshere is one of a kind. Good stuff. Have it about every two weeks......

I will be updating the first post (hopefully if I can figure it out) with maps of where everyone will meet before the cruise and maps of the route of which we will be taking after the cruise is over when we all head into Gatlinburg. If some of you are planning on staying at the Rivers Edge I can get you maps to and from your hotel as well. For those making reservations with hotels, please let me know as soon as you do it. I'm trying to keep up with the Z Nation as you guys will be in my homeland. Everyone is free to do as you please at any time, but if I know where your staying, I can tell the cops where to raid. :flipa:

Closest would be about 1hr or so away up I-40. Usually a 1/2 day deal....better rafting would be on the Occoee, your looking at a 2hr drive and almost a full day. If your really, really wanting to, I'll get you the info. If you want to ride an innertube down the river....well that's a different story.

Next time. Don't do that. If they think it will be a bunch of guys/kids, they won't rent to ya or they will charge more since shit usually gets broke. Trust me. Pick your cabin off of the website, call and ask them if the cabin is available the days your wanting to stay. When they ask "How many in your party?". Just tell them it's you and your wife. 2 people. The rate is more reasonable and you sound more like an adult they'd want to rent to. They will tell you the price per night. If you are satisfied with the price, they want a deposit with in 7 days of the "reservation call" of one full night's price. My deposit was $115. You can mail the deposit (call them the day it goes out so they can start watching for it) or do the credit card # by phone.

I've used these guys many time before and so has my family. If you get one of the cabins, please treat it like you would your home. That's all I ask.

Understand, Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg is about 1 1/2 away from the "dragon" depending on how you get there. We will be ending the day in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area so it only makes sense to get your hotel in that area. I'll be leaving the Gatlinburg area early Saturday from our cabin, to drive to the "meeting" place at Wal-Mart off of hwy 411 south. So I'll have to make the same drive as the rest of you. Directions will be given to you guys closer to the actual date depending on where you'll be comming from....

Links of the route we will be taking are now posted. Look at the milage of each section and note the time. We will be in no hurry to accomplish this cruise so everyone has time to be careful.

We will meet at Wal-mart, head from Wal-mart to Fontana Dam, and then back down the "dragon" to Foothills Parkway, across the parkway to Wears Valley and onto Pigeon Forge......


If anyone has questions, please ask. The Google maps are spot on with it's directions. No one should get lost and everyone should have a print out of the trip to bring with them....

It's always like that every year. The cops aren't getting worse, it's the idiot riders and drivers. I've been up and down that thing for around 15 years. The cops have always been there, the traffic has always been there, the problems have always been there. It's just as safe as driving in rush hour traffic. Two main rules to follow, speed limits are posted so do the speed limit and DO NOT cross the DOUBLE YELLOW LINES!! This is for everyones saftey. It's really a fun and beautiful drive and no one will be in a hurry. I hope to have all of us in a line on the way up there. If people have passengers, have them take pics of us driving up and down...pleanty of oppertunities....

I'm down with grabbin a meal together wherever (except White Castle/ Krystal) before we try to drown our livers, too. Remember, from Gatlinburg and the cabins, Big Ed's is over 1 1/2 hours away in Oak Ridge. It's actually about 4 blocks from my house. Quite a far ways to drive for some pizza for one night.......might have to make another seperate trip for that some other time, I'd still be down for it whenever.

More than just a few dropped out. Right now, it's looking like you,
Mellowness65, BlackescortGT and Dougiestyl from teamzx2. Hondastomper is doubtfull but I would like him to make it.

From the SVTOA alot of people have backed out as well. Right now we have 3 of them showing up in Mustangs'.

In total.....around 7 to 8 out of the origional 14 from Team and 12 from SVTOA. So less than half that show interest.....figures. Maybe more will show up at the last minute. :poke:

I tried to give people pleanty of time to get cash up and days off for this. Apperantly it wasn't enough. :shrug:

First off, I want to thank everyone who attended.You guys made this happen and without you, we wouldn't have had so much fun. I really wish I could have hung out with everyone a little more, hit the go carts, drank a little more and I hear the tubbin' was fun as well. My wife had fun meeting some of you that she always hears me talking about. She really enjoyed the cruize and enjoyed talking with everyone. The guys from the SVTOA had fun and are talking about trying to get more of them together for a fall cruise. Maybe even take the "hellbender" route or other very curvey mountainous roads in that area we were in. Something to keep in mind.......
