Ok I'm looking at two different tires for my 17's, but don't know which one to go with.

First one is the: BRIDGESTONE POTENZA G009

Second one is the: FIRESTONE FIREHAWK WIDE OVAL

thanks
Corey

Since Firestone is owned by Bridgestone there probably isn't a lot of difference. The Tire Rack web site has surveys on most tires.

I have the Potenza's myself. They have great grip, even in the rain. I just got them a few weeks ago, so I haven't had a chance to play with them in the snow.

I've got the G009's as well. They are the best tires I have ever had. Awesome in all weather types. Took my car from Texas to Pennsylvania this past December and it handled snow really well, much better than I expected from a directional tread pattern. Make sure you get the directional tread G009's though, they have two different tread types, directional and one that is similar to a "regular" tire. The directionals also have really good tread wear if you keep them rotated and properly inflated, my sister had the regular ones on her ZX2 and they only went 30,000 miles. My last set had 40,000 miles on them before I damaged one of them, but they still had plenty of tread left, it just made more sense financially to replace all four.

I personally love my Barum Bravuris tires I have from Discount Tires. $63 a piece. AWESOME customer service. I love these tires. Wet or dry these tires perform very well. I had a bad experience with some firestone's never again will I buy a pair. They just didnt last as long as Id hoped. Im biased though as these re my first low pro tires.

They are not new and sexy technology, but the BF Goodrich Traction TAs I have are great.
I need an all season tire. This was the best I could find on paper, and they turned out to be very nice.

My Kumho SPT's were $ 64 from the Tire Rack. Excellent high performance tire, wet or dry, good wear. Even driveable in light snow but not reccomended.

I have the Potenza G009s great tire. They don't hold up long if your alignment is off though. Not like any tire can. So make sure everything is straight to.
