Think it will work?
Cut the old flange, weld on a T25, run an internal wastegate.

Yah it'll work, but i wouldn't trust it.

I don't think I'd risk it, pretty sure there has been a few ppl that have reinforced welds and still ran into problems. My PoS didn't even crack on a weld, just cracked in the middle of no where.

Heck I have the header, and I think I can get the work done for free, so why not try? if it doesn't cost anything why nit right?

yeah you can do it.. but the pacesetter is notorious for cracking over and over even AFTER reinforced.. if you reflange it and turbo.. the additional heat from the turbo is gonna fatigue the metal TREMENDOUSLY.. even the best weld is only as good as the weaked link... in this case .. pacesetter...

it'll just melt the walls of the header over time, and eventually blow out all over the place.

In pacesetters defense, I think ZX2Fast is running it but instead of cutting off the flange and welding on a T3 flange he had a "pipe" (IDK) placed between the header and the turbo with the header flange on one side and the turbo flange on the other side. Hope that makes sense. Said it was a PITA though. But he's been running it like that for a while, maybe he'll chime in.

I am not using a Pacesetter. I wouldn't use one of those on a lawnmower. Even if it is free, how often do you want to take that shit apart to fix it? Oh, if some cracks off and gets into that turbine wheel, that free header just cost you a $600 turbo. I'm using a JBA header with a custom midpipe. A stock Zetec Focus header with slotted holes would work better then that POS you have. You should be able to get one of those cheap off Ebay or Focal-jet.

Pretty sure the pacesetter shorty dumps in the exact place as the stocker manifold. if thats the case wouldn't work even if you tried. Too close to the passenger side ie too close to the AC compressor. And besides, like everyone says, the welds will crack and why not spend the 20 bucks for a focus mani, its been tried and true.

On second note i might be confusing the jba and pacesetter on where it dumps at but still wouldn't be worth it. You should just sell the pacesetter on ebay and pick up a stocker foci. Might make a couple bucks.

Sorry about the misquote. Got the two different headers mixed up. My bad!

For dependability, you'll want a cast manifold. Like the others have said, the Paceshitter doesn't hold up even WITHOUT the weight of a turbocharger bolted up.
