I used my digital camera in full manual mods and took a few pictures of my headligh output with the stock headlights with the stock bulbs and with the sylvania 9007 ST silverstar bulbs. Some may remember the comparison pics I posted a while ago showing the brighter, whiter light output with the 9007 ST bulbs. If you haven't seen it before, here is a pic.

For the HID vs Halogen comparison, I used the same settings on my digital camera in full manual mode for the before and after pics of my headlights' light output. I used a 1/8 second shutter time and an F 2.8 aperture. I also used the same white balance settings for all sets of pics. The headlights were cleaned before each set of pics.

Here is the first pic taken in my driveway. The top pic was with the HID conversion and the bottom pic was with the 9007 ST halogen bulbs.

The next set were taken in a local parking lot. The top is with the HID conversion and the bottom is with the 9007 ST halogen bulbs.

I probably should have used a longer shutter time. Neither pic shows the full light output of either bulbs, but it does show a good comparison of their light output. The HID conversion does put out a lot more light without blinding oncoming traffic. I don't need to use my driving lights on the dark back roads here because the HID headlights work so well.

The last pic is the HID headlights compared to the halogen Hella FF75 Halogen driving lights. You can see the difference in color. The HID headlight bulbs are 4300K and the driving light bulbs are around 3100K.
