Excellent recomendation...if you found one with a B18 or so....it wouldn't be that slow. :)
Hell any Civic would be good. Although my 98 coupe doesn't get that great of gas.. :(

The Dad- What motor do those have in them?
I found a HF with a blown motor for $350. I think it's a D16, but I'm not sure.
Then, I found a motor for $150. Woot.

I'll part my 1988 Escort Pony 40mpg+ with a rebuilt head for $600 if you want to come pick it up. I just fixed its rust problem in the rear, should last another 20 years.

I'll even throw in a full tank of gas which will last you all the way back to alabama (it should if you stay at 55mph). Everything works except the coolant level sensor in the reserve tank (its part of the cap). The dash has heat cracks. I never drove it for more then an hour straight so I don't know how it will hold up on a long trip. The trans should be flushed and filter changed, the fluid is brown other then that your good. The car never came with a temperature gauge so I would let it cool down every now and then on your long trip. Previous owner blew the head gasket because it overheated and I replaced the head gasket and decked the head to be straight. I also replaced a metal coolant pipe that caused the overheating issue from previous owner. Car runs good, maintainence-free pretty much now.

How long have you been using it as a daily driver?

April 2007 to current. I'm no rush to get rid of it, just helping out a fellow tuner. I would go get another blown head gasketed car and fix it with the money. I am second owner of it, previous owner was an old grandma.
