this is the first time i've felt an earthquake! and for it to be in Illinois is nuts...i lived in alaska 2 years and slept through them all. i felt it at 4:39 in Peoria, IL.

Yeah, we felt it 2 minites later here in central Indiana. It was a 5.4 in IL. I was waiting for an explosion. Then when it didn't happen I figured it was a quake and turned the radio on. Sure enough, that is what it was.

yeah, this is my first time being awake for one, too! i hope everyone's ok near the epicenter...no broken gas lines or anything. at least the ground is thawed out now...don't have to worry about the added strain of hard frozen ground and hard frozen lines.

i'm surprised there hasn't been a major quake from the New Madrid fault in southern IL. the last big one from there was in the 1800's...made the Mississippi River run backward for 3 days and rang church bells in north carolina!

ouch i wounder if a shed fell down this time like it did in 1977 like the first one ohio had. and that one was smaller

it must have been closer to ohio than illinois...i'm in central IL, about an hour and 15 minutes from indiana, and it was barely noticable...sounds like you guys got shook up a bit more.

i've heard of people getting blood clots that way. there was a thing a few years ago about kids that would play video games til their legs were numb (that was totally me) and they were getting blood clots from that, and it would dislodge and get stuck again in their brains or hearts and stuff.

eww that sucks... i remember sleeping the wrong way and i couldn't move my neck cuz it hurt so bad. i missed 2 weeks of school and had to lay on the couch and couldn't get up and when i did it hurt like hell, the only time i could get up was to use the bathroom and even then i couldn't stand it cuz of the pain

Anyone just feel that one?

There was just ANOTHER 4.5 in the same spot as the one this morning.

I was sitting watching TV and the apt starting feeling like it was swaying...not as bad as the morning one but this one was def. able to be felt.

This is nuts today!

yea, i didn't wake up for the 1st one, but i was on the computer when the second one hit... lasted about 5 seconds, and it just basically felt like someone was pushing my shoulder (i was laying down on my bed).

Didn't feel the second one. I was on the road. The first one woke me up at 4:36 here at least thats what was on the clock. Only felt like a truck drove by, but it was enough. My bed water bed had some waves going on.
