i've heard that the megan racing springs are the exact same as the zxtuner springs. up to this point these are what i have planned on purchasing, i had the eibach's on my old zx2 but i want something a little stiffer than that. however reading this thread worried me about the springs' quality and integrity.

blue_2001 said his springs are sagging and the coating is coming off, not cool IMO.

should i be worried? or is there a difference in quality between the zxtuner springs and the megan racing?

I agree it's not cool if the powdercoating is coming off, but there's a lot that can make that happen. Also, all springs "sag", but most of us call it settling. The springs won't reach their full drop until a few weeks/months after the install. I've had the ZXTuner/Megan springs for like 2 years now with no issues. I've never heard of anyone else ever having issues, either (except for blue 2001).

I found a company that sells them. They are in PA so I asked if they'd cut me a break on shipping. They wouldn't but still a good deal compared to zxtuner's shipping rate.

Yes we sell them. They ship from CA and there is a flat shipping charge of $30 on our web site but $40 on Ebay. If you want you can send a direct Paypal payment of $130 to our account at bhper4mance@aol.com or call us to place the order.

Thanks

So 130 shipped is better then 151.99 shipped from zxtuner

I think thou I'll go progress cuz they are cheaper

Wow, Rob raised his price I guess. I paid $120 shipped when I got mine.

I have the megan racing springs. I fgured my car would be a tad bit lower in the back. The powder coating on mine is completely off after not even 6 months of having them installed. The paint didn't even hold up to a month...

I believe the Megan racing springs for the Escort or ZX2 are the same as those sold under the ST or Suspension Tech brand names. (Someone correct me if i am wrong.) The 'scorts and the ZX2 use different springs.

I bought a set of the ST for the '97 and later 'scort sedan. Front springs lower the car about 1.7" and once compressed have about the same stiffness as stock springs.

Rear springs lower the car about 2" and when compressed are about 30-40% less stiff than stock. Definitely too soft. I wound up using the front ST springs and modified ZX2 springs in the rear to lower the rear of the car by about 1.0-1.3"

If anyone buys the Megan Racing springs for the ZX2 they might want to post results. I am hoping the rear springs turn out to be stiffer than those for the 'scort sedan.
