So last night there was a big party for my friends brother, who is shipping of to Basic Training in a few days. I went to th is party with another friend, who is in the army (driver for the night) and a kid I dont really know who seems sketchy (super skinny, circles around eyes...shady looking) so anyways; party is not the important part. Were leaving around 1 am,we all drank ALOT of Juicy Juice except the sketchy kid who's driving my army buddies car. So we get to the car, and he flips out saying he's not "equiped" to drive - wtf that means; I still dont know. So my army buddy gets behind the wheel and i'm in the pass. side - and I do not like the situation. So we make our Taco Bell stop, and are heading back home through a residential area. The sketchy kid has said little to nothing all night when all of a sudden he goes "Man, this is a fucking cop playground around here, get the fuck outta here, now man." So were like ok.....a little creepy but we figure since we've all had some juicey juice thats why. So were heading for the backroads when all of a sudden.....here come the lights. Daaaaamn. So I glance in the backseat and this kid is rolling a blunt in a frisbee. I'm like WHAT THE FUCK. I don't do drugs. This is becoming VERY fucked up,VERY fast. So this kid throws it on the floor (he's in the backseat) and covers it up with a coat.and starts going "shit man, i've got......... on me. fuck fuck fuck" I don't know anything he said. all presc. drugs I assume? So the cop comes up and looks around, asks for license, reg., ins. So I go into the glovebox to grab it...flask falls out. So I drop the flask and shift through all kinds of shit to get it all out. So the officer gets the kids info and his army ID as well. asks him breifly what he's in..... Turns out he's got a taillight out, and its cracked. Tells him to get it fixed soon, have a good one. t was the shortest stop I've ever been through. so 1. Fuck all you military guys and your benefits  but most of all - don't ride with shady people.

FYI- It doesn't play out like that everywhere. There are some cops around here in Norfolk, VA and down in Jacksonville, NC... who are harder on the military. Alot of the civilians in those areas b*tch and moan about the military.

Everytime I'm stopped for my tints or muffler I got a ticket....he literally saw his ID, made sure everything was OK with his license and said ave a nice night. Hell, I'd pay $100 for a legit looking military ID to get out of tickets...lol and yeah, I won't be going anyplace with that kid ever again. I knew something was wrong when I first saw him.

Yeah we definitely don't get perks everywhere. Grand Forks, North Dakota is one place. I was pulled over twice there. Once was a 52 in a 40 and I got a ticket. The second was on the highway, 77 in a 70. I was leaving the country in like a month to go to England. They're pretty much shutting the base down though. I hope that place floods and most of the locals drown.

Yeah it is the luck of the draw the same as being a civilian and getting pulled over, generally speaking cops are trained to have already decided whether they will ticket you before they et out of thier car.
Some see military as those who should be setting the example so they don't get and easy ride... again its just the luck of the draw.

A fake military ID would be a federal offense, plus we have EARNED the priveledges that come with the ID. Just some thing to think about.

The military ID doesn't necessarily get you out of a ticket. My fiancee got one for going five over the speed limit...he got a ticket and was taken to the office because he had an Expired VA license with his Military ID (Which is Legal as long as you are not in VA) This is before that law changed. They had to look it up on the internet to figure it out, but he still got the ticket...meanwhile I was waiting for him at the Airport after an 8 hour nonstop flight...

I have to say that the Military Favor thing works in NON military areas. People hate military people when they are there, but when they leave, they miss them. At one point both the main divisions in fort hood left and there was maybe 10% of the soldiers there. Lets just say the local economy took a huge crap...

ON TO STORY TIME
Before I went to basic, got pulled over for reckless driving and 30 over, I got a warning

Christmas break during advanced training, new years eve, I was 20, my passenger was 17 and we were both blitzed drunk, I got pulled over for speeding, passing in an intersection and suspicion of drunk driving (all true) I got a warning and I got to drive home...

FIRST DAY BACK FROM IRAQ - It was New Years Eve, about 11pm, I was at a bar with a girl I met that day and we wanted to go to a different bar. Well I was too drunk to drive so I dropped my car off at a well lit, camera watched area and got in her car. AS SOON AS WE GOT ON THE HIGHWAY she tells me her license is suspended, and she proceeds to go 20 over the speed limit and busts out a Blunt... As the thought went through my head, it would be my luck we would get pulled over, Blue Berries and Cherries... A Texas State Trooper... She pulls over and gives me the Blunt and tells me to throw it out the window, I was like HUH? So there I am with a blunt in my hand and the trooper comes to my window... After a bit more than an hour in 40 degree weather in a T shirt and jeans and the OH SHIT factor, I was stone sober... The cop comes up to me and says "she confessed and we gave her a ticket, are you ok to drive?" They gave me a few tests and sent us on our way... I was very pissed about the whole thing and i grunge fucked the hell out of her and woke her up to a Dick in the ass with no lube.

I am not saying I am proud of this, but I am very happy the military ID got me out of it.
